I'm tired of you constantly reminding me, "...no more monkey's jumping on the bed!" It spoils all the fun...

      Merry Christmas, Doc!

I meant to tell you - just prior to Christmas the local news channel had a chef on their show preparing of a lobster dish to serve during the Feast of the Seven Fishes. If I'd not been so doggone lazy I would have captured the recipe and sent it your way...

When I look at the Labor Day traffic winding ever so slowly down I-93, I'm reminded why I stay home on these holiday w/ends

Going to see Hal Holbrook in " Mark Twain Tonite" this evening. I've been looking forward to this for quite sometime. Probably one of Americas most famous cigar smokers.

Yea, it was good. Holbrook is an excellent actor. He did a scene out of Huck finn, the one where he gets involved in a feud. It was masterful. I never read it the way he acted it out.

Our kids want to remove snow from driveways, when it snows. I've told them I'd help, but they'd need a little work ethic before I took on that venture. They haven't mentioned it again, LOL.

I'll tell ya a story. Back in the eighties we had a blizzard. Dumped a lot of snow in the Boston area. Vt. volunteered to help. They were assigned the Mass pike. Mass estimated it would take them two weeks to clean it up. It took them thirteen hours. True story.

        I don't doubt it.
Ga governor is trying to claim Ga cannot afford the equipment. When I lived in Denver, the "equipment" was a standard public works dump truck with a plow on the front and spreader on the back. Course you would have to use that BEFORE everyone left work early in a panic. A little hard to treat roads with abandoned cars filling lanes.

Some years ago- never mind how long precisely- having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me on shore, I thought I would sail about a little and see the watery part of the world. It is a way I have of driving off the spleen and regulating the circulation. Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before coffin warehouses, and bringing up the rear of every funeral I meet; and especially whenever my hypos get such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people's hats off- then, I account it high time to get to sea as soon as I can. This is my substitute for pistol and ball. With a philosophical flourish Cato throws himself upon his sword; I quietly take to the ship. There is nothing surprising in this. If they but knew it, almost all men in their degree, some time or other, cherish very nearly the same feelings towards the ocean with me.

Introduction to Moby Dick

8404: Tougher than a sailor; smarter than a Marine.
