    Dry Boxing

This is one of the best threads on the forum. Once again I salvaged some cigars that weren't smoking well. 10/12 days in the dry box and they were fine.

    Today's Smoke 2021

Smoking a Holy Lance Maduro, one of my favorite smokes. This was from a box that I put back for years with the cello on the box. They channeled unreal. Time and dry boxing saved the box. Do Have to touch up now and then, but a damn fine smoke.

    Dry Boxing

This is one of the best threads ever. I had some problems with various boxes that I had aged with the cellophane on the boxes. They were not smokeable. Then folks in the forum suggested dry boxing. I salvaged several boxes that are smoking wonderfully now by dry boxing them

Warped Don Reynaldo: More TUNNELING Issues

To be clear There is no hope for cigars that are constructed poorly. However, hygrometers must be calibrated correctly. Calibrate for temp first and then calibrate humidity. I calibrate temps using a thermopen product, but whatever works for you to calibrate the temp. Then to calibrate RH I...

Warped Don Reynaldo: More TUNNELING Issues

Suggest you try dry boxing them. Also suggest you try getting different hygrometers. Different hygrometers and dry boxing has worked for me. There is a thread in the forum on dry boxing

    Today's Smoke 2021

Smoking an Illusione Singulare Rose Croix from 2013. Really nice smoke. Has needed a bit of touchup now and then. Hasn't bothered me in the slightest. Some of the best smokes I've had need that.

What are you guys using as hygrometers?

Thanks for that link, Blinded by Science. Thanks for also not giving me grief about not having searched. If I had, I would have come up with that recent thread. Great thread. I've got a lot going on, and in my haste didn't search, because it was something I had been trying to get around to...

What are you guys using as hygrometers?

I have been using multiple cheapies and calibrating them annually when I change batteries. Calibrating with 65% humipacks (multiple) in double plastic bags. Then I had some issues where the cigars were clearly over humidified. So, I bought some thermoworks pocket hygrometers...

    Paging Bill...

" I will tell her it was the best cigar I ever smoked, regardless." That is the appropriate response. I'm glad to see Bill thought it was legit, I was thinking it looked really good to me. I'm sure some love them, but Upmans are not a favorite of mine. I also seem to recall that Pres Kennedy...

Take those wrappers off if you're putting things back

update on this The box of Illusiones that were causing a problem for me, I had left the plastic wrapper on the box and had stored in the wineador for years. They were smokeable but not as enjoyable as others had been after dry boxing. So, I put them in a coolidor where I kept cubans, in a...

Temperature as it relates to relative humidity

I have in recent years believed that temperature stability is as much important for cigars as relative humidity stability. There is a calculator at https://www.rotronic.com/en-us/humidity_measurement-feuchtemessung-mesure_de_l_humidite/humidity-calculator-feuchterechner-mr/ Which shows many...

    Dry Boxing

I never used to dry box anything and didn't know how. Then I had some that didn't smoke too well and came here and found how to do it. I now dry box everything for at least a day or two, more if possible The other day I went to the humidor and pulled one from a box that I've had about seven...
