DSC_0018.JPG After two days of hurricane,I decided to grab an Aguila and head for the cave.I chose the torpedo.
Construction was spot on,only took one brief touch up near the last third.
Interesting aroma pre light, deep cured tobacco, taste was sweet tobacco, fresh.

First third was a riot of floral and spice aromas, layers of rich exotic scents.
The flavors were of oak and good leather, barley or oats, smooth mouth feel.
A lot going on, many components.

Second third built strength and the aromas got more woodsy and deep, oak leaf and tobacco with traces of cedar.
The flavors were more dark coffee and roots, like it was developing and not quite where it was going, but flavorful and enjoyable overall.

The last third the floral essence showed up briefly, and the flavors picked up and were sweet tobacco, oak leaf and dark coffee, with a note of something savory.

This was a very tasty cigar,I enjoyed it for several reasons.

First, it was very well made, and this lead to it showing well and tasting its best.

Second, the flavors and aromas in the first third were compelling, a treat.

Third, I smoke primarily CCs, and this cigar did not blast my palate.
It was more full and had more power than I am used to, but this is in its favor for me.
Sometimes I want a cigar with some muscle that is not overpowering.

I could see these in my rotation very easily.

I am going to keep these for a while, age some in the cello, and some in a cab,I think there is a lot of development ahead in these,I have aged many cigars that had good components young, but really had much more to offer.
It would be a shame to smoke these too soon.

I would smoke this cigar anytime ,and look forward to smoking the next size........ DSC_0017.JPG

Interesting cigar. Thanks for taking the time to do a write up.

They sound interesting. Unfortunately, my usually strong Google-fu is failing me. And my eyes are getting old, so I can't make out the fine print on the boxes in your picture. I know you say they're from Switzerland, but where is the tobacco from? Are they only available in Switzerland?

Cool. I may keep an eye out to see if one of the local shops has them.

The gold lettering says hecho totalmente a mano en Nicaragua. I was only to make it out by reading the gold lettering off of 2 packages and combining it. They appear to be made in Nicaragua. I can't make out the rest.

Just for the fun, I did a goodie search. There is a ISOM vendor listed I don't know, and the sticks are no more than $50 for a box of ten. No product information whatsoever.

Nica filler and binder with an Ecuadoran wrapper.

Probably will not be found in the US. These are from a Habanos dealer in Switzerland.
I have smoked four of these now, just an excellent cigar.

I tried the Aguila robusto, heckuva stick. Showed better than I expected.
Same huge aromas, no break in the flavors from start to finish.
Construction was spot on, great burn to the nub.
Flavorful but not overpowering ,compelling aromas of spice, but not peppery on the palate.
My kind of smoke, fits my profile and gives me a really good alternative to CCs.

Nice review @garbandz! I smoked the Aguila Torpedo you gave me and it was outstanding.
(Thank you, it was much appreciated)

Thanks for the nice review.
