I'm glad I knew better

Damn this thread took a while to get caught up so here goes. Wkoti, you are/have doing/done the right things here. Keep on without those losers and that terrible shop. It sure is weird that Patrick showed up for only two posts a few weeks ago never to return. I guess he didn't get the support his "novel in length" post stating the same things about his plumed out cigars over and over did.

Start a new club, and/or wait for me to come drag the wife and fam to Casa Fuente lol.

Doing the right thing sometimes goes against what others will do. It ain't easy, hell, I've been a work in progress my whole life. You stay strong to your morale character and you'll find you get what you need out of this scenario WKOTI.
You have my respect and I'll herf with you anytime as opposed to those spineless, mold suckin' pussies.

Wow, that took awhile to catch up on.

WKOTI, I think you did the right thing in every situation. It is hard these days to stand up for what you know is right. I have never seen plume or mold on cigars, so I am not going to pretend I know anything. But, what I do know is that there are BOTLs on CP that I wouldn't question about cigars. Some of them probably have grand kids older than me. And from what I see they all say it is mold.

As 4cbln3 said, you have my respect and I would HERF with you anytime.

I will take you both up on those offers, don't throw it out there, I will call you on it! ;)

Well, I finally got a chance to check this out for myself.

I'll start by saying, I think I know who Patrick is and his former shop was a great place to hang out and the humidor was always pristine.

Now, I walked into this shop and entered the humidor. I was followed in by the lone worker who looked at the puddle on the floor and said, "I guess I better get the mop." I counted three residential and one commercial humidifiers. One of the residential was a steam style "vaporizer". Wet Wet Wet!

Almost every box of non cello-ed cigars showed mold to one extent or another. The cello-ed cigars were covered with hard water accumulations.

I bought a single cello-ed cheap smoke and left with my mouth shut.

We're going to file this one as confirmed.

Wow. I bet there wasn't a hygrometer in sight either.

They are in the farthest corners of the humidor as far away from the humidifiers as they can be. :D

Vindicated :whistling:

Thank you for confirming this mmburtch! Wkoti has done such a fantastic job to this point outlinine the issue and documenting what he found that I had no doubt there was a problem. Your account, however, seems to shed light on the fact that there are many more sticks in poor condition and the work mentality of the daily employee is just nonexistant.

No photo's? How are we to believe you?

It's probably a humidor of plume!

I'm just confused as to why you bought a cigar at all MMBurtch? After all this crap I wouldn't have given them a dime of my hard earned scratch... IMHO. I wonder if their Phillie Blunts have "plume" too...

That has to be plume! In fact after reading mmburtch's post, I installed a plume machine in my two desk top humidors.

Interesting. So where is that denvercigarguy to refute these claims??? I suppose I should PM the lad and let him know there is trouble brewing somewhere on the internet! ;)

After a day and a half sitting on my coffee table, possibly the wettest cigar I have smoked in years.

As for buying it, call me a creature of etiquette.

Guess I see your etiquette point- but after the way WKOTI was treated there and the fact it's re-enforcing a behavior pattern in a store that doesn't seem to get it- I wouldn't have. But that's just me.

Now on the other hand....if I'd used their bathroom- I would have had to buy something or my mother wouldn't speak to me. She always HAD to buy something if she used a gas stations lavatory or she'd feel guilty the rest of our car trip. Hence I always liked pitstops at gas stations for her as it was the only time she'd buy me Zero Candy bars!
