This was a very well constructed cigar with a delicately smooth, golden brown wrapper and a couple of small veins running the length. The cap had the typical pigtail and once punched, I found the draw to be perfect with a good tobacco flavor. After firing up the foot and getting the burn going good, first draw was a mild to almost medium strength and what I would call very light. The smoke itself was sweet and very floral with a hint of ripe pecans. There was also a flavor that I can only describe as fresh soap. Not overwhelming, but that’s what it reminded me of. It had a clean finish to it (had to put that in due to the soap taste :D ).

It had a perfect burn with a strong ash that held on to the halfway point. There wasn’t much change in the smoke other than picking up a little in strength towards the end. This was a good smoke, however the floral “soapy” taste didn’t quite fit my palate.

Thanks for the review, Greg. What is your take on the Fundadores? I am loving my box of 05 Fundis and am awaiting the urge to smoke my lone Robusto Extra.

If I ever get one, I'll letcha know!

Thanks for the most excellent review. I have never had the pleasure of an ISOM variety of these sticks but those I have smoked from the DR have been very flavorful and worthwhile.

Great review Greg. I agree with you on this one, as I haven't had a "great" experience with any of these yet. Two cigars (from the same box) will be completely different. One will have an excellent medium body to it, full of toasted & roasted nuts and fresh tobacco, but still not overwhelmingly good, while the next will be light bodied with absolutely no flavor except for tobacco flavor.
For the price, there is much, much better IMHO.

I always prefer a Fundadore btw. Even the bad ones aren't bad...I mean it's a lancero! ;)
