In honor of Brian (Infinity), I lit this cigar up this past Wednesday December 3, 2008. This was one of the cigars Brian gifted to me almost a year ago and was fitting for the occasion. I unfortunately was quite sick with a flu bug, so it was fairly difficult tasting/smelling anything at all, however from what I could taste this was an incredible smoke.

This was a beautiful cigar with perfect construction and oils all over the dark maduro wrapper. The perfect box pressed shape was impressive with the head forming into a razor sharp tip. I clipped only a small piece from the head and found the draw to be quite loose, so left it at that. With most Padrons I’ve smoked, there’s a good bit of black pepper spice, and I had prepared myself to get a decent blast of it with this, however there was none to be found when I took my first draw. I could detect, although slightly, a dark cocoa that was sweet with a very smooth and creamy smoke. The strength was a medium and an all around excellent cigar.

A little ways in I noticed tar had started to build on the tip, so I made another clip that remedied that, however the draw really opened up afterwards. Still, the smoke had a perfect balance and between the bouts of coughing and nose blowing, it was delicious!

I really wish I had not been as sick as I was because Brian almost always commented on how much he really enjoyed my reviews, and I really wanted to do a good one on this. Brian – I know you’re watching and reading CP on that ethereal laptop in heaven, this review is for you brother!

Most likely the best review ever, just because.....

Don

That is one stunning looking cigar. From one good BOTL to another and a very fitting tribute.

Nice review Greg! The 40th maduro is probably my all time favorite cigar....just wish they didn't cost so damn much.

Aumen to that! I've got one more waiting to smoke when I've got my smeller/taster back. I've a feeling I'm going to be looking for more of these.

Always enjoy your reviews. Hope the family is getting over their sickness nice and speedily.

My family is sick now... maybe the internet is getting so advanced that I can catch a cold from a forum I visit regularly?

Certainly a fitting tribute to #1.

Do it! Do it now! You can compare to what you were missing when you were sick while still fresh in your mind.

Nice review and fitting tribute Greg. I think I remember Brian saying these were in his top five to go to.

This is for sure one of the best cigars I've smoked. Very nice review and I can't wait to light up another myself.

Great smoke, I totally got the dark cocoa throughout the majority of the cigar. Fantastic!

Excellent review. One of the most beautiful cigars indeed. I have not tried a 40th yet but I think this review is going to change that. I'm sure Brian would be happy. Thanks

Call me a Padron Whore if you wish but, I have never smoked anything from them that was not top notch. This stick is awesome indeed. Your review did it much justice and makes me want to run out and pick one up tomorrow.

Alas, that $33.00 price tag at my local B&M will prevent such actions. Therefore, I will have to live through your review and the pics.

Definitely one of the few NC sticks over 20 dollars that is clearly worth it. The DCM S90th and an ESG with a year or so being the only others off head that ring a bell.

Awesome review. I never had the maduro, but I have had the natural. But imho I will spend the extra 6 bucks and pick up the 80th, maduro. Hands down the smoke I have ever had. Absolutly love this cigar. Got one in my humi right now waiting for the right moment.

I had one of these today and I agree with you Greg. These are fantastic. :D

This is #1 on my want to try list for the future. Check out that snow white ash

Great review Greg! These are some fine smokes, and your review and pictures sure did them justice. Brian's probably looking down saying it's about time you lit that baby up. Good going

I really should just send you a Palio or something Greg... That punch you're using causes almost every cigar you smoke to have tar brother! What the hell?!?
