Partly cloudy and cold this morning with temps in the low 30’s (F). I actually don’t feel so bad as my good friend Alan told me the temps up where he is (single digits probably going below w/a blizzard coming). Whew, now that’s cold.

I was going to have a Boli PC, however decided on something a little smaller as I didn’t want to be outside too long. I picked out a ‘05 RASCC with a golden brown wrapper and nice oily sheen. Cap punched, the draw is perfect, and I find a slight musty taste coming through. I fired up the foot and got flavors of sweet cocoa, old worn leather, and a hint of citrus. There was a nice spice on the back of the throat and the smoke itself was a good medium in strength with a deliciously long finish.

This was a fantastic little smoke with a perfect burn and tons of smoke. I thoroughly enjoyed it down to the nub and wanted more.

Great review.
Those are great short smokes, especially with a few years on them.

Nice review of one of my favorites!

The RASCC is a great cigar, but I find them a lot of them to have firm draws.

Nice pictorial review!

In fact I have one of these in my pocket humi waiting on my 40 min lunch break today.

Its one of the very few Cubans I buy boxes of.

@ Tapewormboy: dry box them for a day before smoking, they usually open right up. And for those that don't I have my Henry's cigar tools.

I have completely enjoyed every Ramon Allones I've tried, including the RASS and the RASCC. I've had the pleasure of smoking some '05 RASS that have been spot-on....just amazing smokes. But then again, I've enjoyed every RASCC too. I think I'll keep both on hand.

I am smoking my third one from an April '08 box and these things are just fantastic. I can't imagine how good they would be with some age on them. I may never find out since I can't keep out of the box. Great little smokes.

My palate would choose RASS over RASCC any day. I've had a lot of draw and wrapper problems with the Small Clubs.
By the way, check out the difference in band detail - your band looks like the RASS one.

Don't like the looks of this band ??? ???

I think that there was a thread a while back in the cuban cigars room about Ramon Allones having two types of bands, one with the detail and one without the detail that were both legit.

I had one from '96 this morning on my way to work, damn it was good.

The RASCC is by far my fav island smoke. I do tend to lean towards a smaller smoke and this guy is PERFECT in every aspect. I never can seem to get enough of that distinct ramon allones taste. The only shitty thing is that I only have one left "03 vintage" and don't want to fire it up do to that.

It's not a fake.. I bought it in a B&M in France.
I was also surprised at first because it's different from the one found on RASS.
I went to two other B&Ms and they all had the same bands.

I've seen them with both types of band bought from the Casa del la Habanos in Nürnberg.

No sweat and no worries.

*edit* And thanks for bumping this thread, I had forgotten that I needed to order a new box.
