This is one gorgeous cigar with a smooth Colorado shade wrapper that has noticeable oils. It has a hefty weight in the hand and is slightly spongy when squeezed. I punch the large cap with the biggest ring on my knife and find a perfect draw.

With fire to the foot, I puff a few times to get the burn going good and take a draw. There’s a small amount of spice in the mild to medium bodied smoke with delicious flavors of vanilla, roasted nuts, cocoa, and orange peel. The finish is lasting and has a pronounced woody flavor that’s very good on the palate.

At about an inch in, the burn wanted to go to one side, however only slightly. The ash is strong and a light gray in color. The smoke continues to be a mild to medium body with the same flavors as described earlier, rich and creamy on the tongue, and a finish still long and lasting on the palate.

Towards the end, the flavors remained consistent with tastes of vanilla bean, roasted nuts, rich cocoa, and what seemed to be an orange peel flavor. I’m still finding the smoke to be a mild to medium body, leaning more towards the mild side for me. The burn has been sharp with the wrapper ash a whitish gray and binder filler ash a much darker gray. The finish is delicious and rich, lasting long after putting the cigar down.

This was a very good smoke, and I can see how it was chosen as the number one cigar. I’d like to thank Israel (Uptown_Isy) for sending this cigar to me. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and would definitely get more…if there were any to get! :D

Great review Greg. I just torched a robusto... also from Isy. The man sends top notch smokes and for that I'm happy :)

Very nice review Greg! Sounds like a great smoke. I have to try one of these.

Nice review. After CA's ranking of Casa Magna Colorado, i've looked forward to hearing more reviews about this brand.

Good Review and i agree with you. although i like the Robusto version a little better. But then i am partial to Robusto's.

Great review Greg. I really enjoyed them when they were around. I still have yet to get my order that was placed a few weeks ago. It's getting ridiculous at this point. Here's the way I see it. Once they are released again, my opinion is that the tobacco will be too young. They will not have allowed the tobacco to age much, and I think that whoever picks them up, will have to lay them down for some time. Needless to say, the company will try an pump out as many as possible in a relatively short amount of time. I think the quality of the roll will be just as good, since it's Nestor, but I do think they will need some time for napping. That's my $0.02.

I completely agree. If I am not mistaken this is the first big award won by Casa Magna.

True. But it's not Nestor Plasencia's first time and it's his tobacco. Also, I heard that the wrapper for the Chisel Puro is not grown by Litto, but by Nestor. This is something I heard, but not confirmed. Does anyone know? That would make Nestor's cigar #1, and his tobacco #3. I don't know how true it is, though. I'll ask around.

Great review, i am looking forward to smoking the one I have in the humi now even more so. What a fine looking cigar
