This is a nice little quick smoke cigar with a dark maduro wrapper that is slightly coarse with noticeable oils. There’s a slight give when squeezed and a good weight in the hand for its size. I punch the cap and find a little too much resistance in the draw with just barely enough air flowing. Hopefully it’ll open up some once warmed.

I put fire to the foot and after getting the burn going good and even, I take a draw. There’s a nice spice on the back of the throat in the medium bodied smoke with a salty sweetness on the lips. The sweet maduro flavor is coming through with rich cocoa and dark earth. Delicious! The burn is good with a strong, medium gray ash forming, and although the draw is a bit tight, enough smoke comes through to satisfy the palate.

There’s a deliciously rich finish that’s long and lasting on the palate. Flavors of dark, rich cocoa and luscious earth continue with a fantastic roasted nuttiness. The burn is still sharp with the ash holding strong. I take this little smoke down to the nub it is so good, shame it didn’t last long.

Tasty little smokes. A bit pricey though so I only ordered the 10 count box, it is in the air right now, should be here early next week.

I think these are a tasty little smoke. Though I have some from late 07, they seem to be going through a 'stale' period. I will let them sit again for another 6 months.

I was also very impressed with this cigar (thanks Baldhead).

I would love to see this cigar in a lancero and a toro. I agree that the 5 and the other sizes are too small.

Greg,

As always your reviews are awsome, I have been dying to try one of those little suckers for a long time. I have hesitated due to the fact there is little info circulating around on these. I guess at least the search for a 5'er is in order. Thank you again Greg, I sink deeper in debt everytime I read these.

My box arrived today. They sure do package these up nicely. These are from JUN 07 so I may need to let them sit for a while longer.

Great review as always. I smoked the one I got out of the New Hope Pass tonight. Very good maduro flavors and I pretty much picked up all the nuances that you did. Mine did get a bit acrid towards the end but I rushed it a bit. I have some Genios I got from a box split that I can't wait to try now. Hopefully they're as good as this little guy.

Greg...did you purchase any of the Tatuaje Cohete from Mark @ Tower?

I would be interested in your comparison. Not as much in taste for taste...but in their ability to get up to taste quickly, maintain it, and furnish a pleasurable finish.

Hypothetically I would enjoy one of these as well (Magicos though). I would hypothetically chock it up to more refined Graycliff Double Espresso. Although it would have a much spicier first quarter as well as undertones of... dare I say... peanut butter by the second half?
