Guess what I pulled out the desktop this evening! :D I can’t really recall if I’ve smoked a King B before, however I feel sure I have. This is a really nice looking stick with a dark brown wrapper that is very oily and somewhat coarse. It’s firm when squeezed, very heavy in the hand, and with the tapered head clipped I find a draw that has way too much resistance. I clip the head two more times and finally get to a point where I feel the draw will work, however it’s still on the tight side. No discernible flavor is coming through.

It took a little time toasting the big ‘ol foot. Once it was fully engulfed in a nice orange glow, I took a few puffs and then a good draw. There was a nice peppery spice coming through in the mild to medium bodied smoke. Flavors weren’t bad at all with nice toasted nut and a hint of vanilla. The flavor actually reminded me a lot of the Anejo 55’s I’ve smoked believe, it or not. Not as rich, but still similar. There was a nice, clean finish left on the palate that was rather lasting.

The burn was sharp the first third with a medium to dark gray ash forming and holding strong. I struggled with the draw, squeezing the tip of the cigar with my teeth to try and loosen it up to get more smoke to come through. It actually worked well enough and flavors continued to be that of roasted nut, vanilla, with hints of worn leather. A very nice, mild spice still tickled the throat.

As the cigar has warmed and gotten the tobacco semi soft, I can feel some serious stems around the band area. The draw wants to tighten up way too much, so I clip a big chunk off the head, which helps only slightly. The tobacco is extremely compacted, not allowing much smoke to flow at all. What smoke I do get out is actually not half bad at all, is actually pretty good IMO. I try rolling the cigar around to loosen it up, however ended up causing it to crack.

This cigar wasn’t all half bad. It had a decent enough burn with a strong ash, a nice spice and good flavors coming through in the medium bodied smoke. The finish was decent enough, not bad on the palate at all. I did find the draw much to be desired, however enough smoke came through to enjoy it well enough. Nothing to knock ones socks off, however still not a bad cigar.
