So I read MartyMcFly’s review on this cigar, which was very good by the way, and also the comments made from others on how fantastic this cigar is, so thought I would pull one out the humi and give it a try. I haven’t smoked many Liga Privada cigars that I can recall, I do remember smoking one when they first came out and if memory serves me right (which it doesn’t most of the time :D ) it was a good smoke.

From reading some on the net, this cigar has a Connecticut broadleaf maduro wrapper with the binder/filler from seven different farms (Nicaraguan, Honduran, Brazilian, and Dominican). The wrapper is a very dark brown Oscuro with noticeable oils and is slightly coarse. I find the cigar has a good weight in the hand, maybe a little on the light side, firm when squeezed and with the tapered cap clipped I find the draw to be very good.

Slowly, I put fire to the foot and get a good burn going. After taking a couple of puffs to get the smoke flowing well, I take a long draw and only get a small splash of spice on the back of the tongue and throat. Sweet Maduro is what I taste first, black coffee slightly sweetened. There’s a taste of cocoa in there as well as a touch of woodiness. Once I exhale the mild to medium bodied smoke trough the mouth and nose, I find a very earthy taste left lingering on the tongue with a nice twang to it. So far however, the finish is quite short.

A strong, medium gray ash is forming, holding well until tapped off into the ashtray. I’m still finding the smoke a mild/medium to my palate with flavors remaining rather consistent. The draw is spot on allowing a perfect amount of smoke through.

Heading into the second half, the burn is still sharp with the draw excellent, and the smoke itself now a good medium body with very rich flavors of coffee, cocoa and hints of what seems to be ginger? An incredibly good finish is left on the palate immediately upon exhaling, and seems to be lasting more and more the further in I go.

This was definitely a very good smoke with sharp burn, strong ash, dark rich and delicious flavors, and a finish that was somewhat short at first, however ended up lasting well enough on the palate. Let me say thanks to Los (Nasty), my brother from the Bronx, for gifting me such an excellent cigar.

These are great! Very consistant and have yet to get a bad one. Smoked another last night and have yet to have one that I couldnt enjoy right to the nub.

That is the way Jess' room should be, awesome!

Also, a good smoke despite getting it from that filthy bastid Los. Did you check that he did not send you a Brooklyn fake?

What? No mounted flatscreen for your daughter?? Shame on you! :sign: :sign:

Nice review! I love these, they are a great change up to the regular rotation. I love them with coconut soup
