This cigar has a very smooth Ecuador Sumatra wrapper with small veins throughout and somewhat noticeable oils. It’s a little light in the hand with the Ecuador Sumatra binder and multi blend of fillers spongy when squeezed. I punch the cap and find a very loose draw with a taste that I really don’t know how to describe, however can say I don’t really care much for it whatever it is.

The foot lights very quickly with a good bit of smoke coming from the new embers. I take a puff or two, then a long draw and get a splash of white pepper spice on the back of the throat. The smoke itself is very light on the palate, yet has a good medium body to it with tastes of what remind me of sweet honey and dried raisin. I get wisps of the smoke in my nose and am reminded of sweet honeysuckle. Strange, but good. There’s also notes of dry grassiness, my mouth is being left quite dry after exhaling, however the finish is not all half bad, but is short on the palate.

The burn is decent enough with a light gray ash forming that holds strong until tapped off in the ashtray about every half inch or so. Plenty of smoke is flowing through quite effortlessly in the loose draw, however is working well enough with the now mild to almost medium bodied smoke. I’m continuing to get tastes of honey and raisin with notes of grassiness and the finish is as before, good but short.

Going into the second half, I’m getting a more straightforward tobacco taste that is actually pretty good. That and the medium-bodied smoke with good spice are hitting the palate right on. The burn continues to be doing very well with a light gray ash forming, holding strong until tapped into the ashtray. Unfortunately, towards the end the wrapper cracks and starts to unravel, so I just went ahead and put it down.

This was a fairly decent smoke with good flavors of honey, raisin, and grass in the first half and becoming a good, straightforward tobacco in the second. With good burn, good taste, and decent finish that was however short, I did enjoy this cigar. Nothing that I would go out and buy, but if presented with one would smoke it. Thanks again Rod for the opportunity!

Great review. One thing about Reyes is that their cigars are always consistent. They are really starting to come out with some great blends and taking their lineup to the next level. The new Miami blend is another great one.

Thanks for the review.
