Absolutely beautiful Saturday morning with temps in the low 70’s, a very soft breeze blowing through the back porch, birds singing. I woke up a little late after staying up playing zombie killing with my gaming brothers, so decided to find a smaller smoke that wouldn’t take a lot of time as I have a couple of errands to run this morning. After rummaging through the humis, I came across a Partagas Habaneros that an excellent BOTL gifted me not long ago. Actually, I’m not 100% sure what this really is, but from the looks/size I’d say it was a Belvederes.

The cello on this cigar is very yellow and after taking it out I can see it was taken care of very well as the wrapper, which was smooth with small veins, still had a nice oiliness to it. Squeezing the cigar, it had a slight give with a couple of very hard spots that made me worry a little that it may be plugged, however after carefully punching the cap, I found a perfect draw with taste of mature tobacco coming through.

With the foot torched and burning evenly, I take a couple of short, quick puffs to get smoke flowing well, then a slow, long draw. The smoke is a good medium body with only a small amount of spice on the back of the tongue and throat. Flavors were incredible coming through, that of worn leather, vanilla, wood, and dark, rich earth. The smoke is heavy and feels oily on the palate with what I would describe as having depth to it if that makes any sense.

The burn is sharp with a medium gray ash forming that is compact, holding strong until tapped off in the ashtray. I couldn’t ask for a better draw, allowing a perfect amount of the delicious medium-bodied smoke to come through. Flavors remained consistent with a hint of the citrus taste typical of Partagas, the finish long on the palate. I am thoroughly enjoying this little smoke!

What an absolute treat, this cigar with excellent burn, wonderful flavors that had a perfect amount of spice in the nostrils, and a finish that was deliciously lasting on the palate. I picked this cigar as I was looking for a quick smoke, however ended up taking my time and enjoying every draw taken letting the smoke slowly release from my mouth and nose. An amazing cigar to say the least.

Another great review! That is a great looking smoke. It almost looks like it had a crease in the wrapper leaf. Thanks again.

Delete this post immediately. These cigars are a well hidden secret, and it would not do for the general public to know how excellent a cigar can be for 49 Euro a box.

Seriously, if Partagas catch on that people love these cigars to the extent that I do, they will put the price up, and the bargain of the decade will be no more.

I can neither confirm or deny that I always have a box in the humidor.
