It’s a rather dreary looking day out: Cloudy, cool, and windy. Looks like it might start raining at any minute. I received this Bahia Blu in a bomb not long ago and have been rather curious as to how it would smoke, so this morning I decided to give it a go. It has a smooth, medium brown Nicaraguan Corojo wrapper, minimal veins, and very little oil. I squeeze the cigar to find the Nicaraguan binder and filler very firm with a good weight in the hand, and after clipping the tapered head I find a perfect draw and a taste of good tobacco with a hint of chocolate.

I torch the foot, which lights quite easily, and in no time plumes of smoke is coming from the burning tobacco. My first draw is of good, medium strength smoke that comes through in great abundance and seems rather light over the palate with a very nice white pepper spice on the back of the throat. Flavors are quite good, that of sweet ginger bread, toasted nut, worn leather, and cedar wood with a finish on the palate that is very rich in flavor but not lasting long after exhaling.

A third in and the burn is sharp with a medium gray ash forming that holds strong until tapped off, no coning to be found. I’m finding the smoke still a good medium strength and flowing well through the perfect draw with a nice white pepper spice continuing to hit the back of the throat. Flavors are consistently rich and delicious hitting my palate perfectly, the finish lasting on the palate.

The final third was as previously described with sharp burn, delicious, rich flavors, and lasting finish. I very much enjoyed this cigar as it hit my palate just right, and after a quick search found a box of 20 robusto going for $29.99 and the torpedo $39.99. Not a bad deal at all on a very good cigar IMO!

Very nice. I've eyeballed those on CI a number of times. Thanks again for another informative review!
