I’d like to give a huge thanks to Rob (IndyRob) for sending me a 2006 and 2007 LFD Outlaw cigar as well as a 2007 2 Guys. I decided to start off with the 2006 Outlaw, which from what I’ve read was rolled by Litto and comes with a Oscuro natural wrapper that is a dark brown in color with incredible oil that I can almost feel on my fingers. There are box work looking veins throughout and underneath the smooth, shiny wrapper the binder feels a bit lumpy. It has a very hefty weight in the hand, is quite spongy when squeezed, and holding the cigar under my nose I get a strong barnyard scent that is rich and oh so good. I punch the cap, which has a large, almost black pigtail, and find the draw perfect with tastes of sweet raisin, and cocoa.

I torch the foot and the aroma from the second hand smoke wafting up to my nose is sweet and rich. After taking a few good puffs, I take a slow, long draw and am surprised to find the spice coming through rather mild with the smoke itself following suit, yet the body seems full with a slightly heavy, oily feel on the palate. Flavors are amazingly rich, tastes of strong, sweet coffee, cocoa, leather, and what I would describe as a hint of anise come through with an amazing finish that lasts long after exhaling.

A third in and the burn is slightly uneven with a medium gray ash forming in layers, holding strong through the first inch where I tap it off in the ashtray. I have to take a few puffs in order to get a good draw of smoke, which is creamy smooth over the palate, still somewhat mild in both strength and spice. Flavors continue to be rich and delicious with the finish lasting long on the palate.

At the halfway mark, I find the smoke is flowing well through the perfect draw and has a perfect balance between strength and spice, which has increased to a good medium. I’m savoring the rich flavors of coffee, cocoa and anise still coming through as I exhale slowly through the mouth and nose, the finish lasting on the palate and lip smacking good. I was hoping to keep the ash going, however it fell easily on its own before reaching halfway.

On into the final third, the now medium to almost full strength smoke flowed well through the perfect draw, the spice seemingly stronger as well. The burn was sharp with the medium gray ash somewhat loose and falling easily with a single, soft tap. Flavors seemed to intensify, becoming even more rich than before, strong black coffee and cocoa being most prominent with the finish simply amazing, lasting long after exhaling. What a shame I couldn’t have been at the even to pick up a full box of these. Thanks again Rob for the opportunity to sample such an amazing cigar!

Great review Greg.

The funny thing about that cigar is it actually got a LOT stronger in the first year, and it started to mellow out in the last year or so. It's a very unique cigar, more than happy to share.

Great review of a cigar I've seen traded in passes before but never had an idea of what they taste like. Always like seeing your pics, although I gotta say, my cigar smoke brings bumlebees, but yours draws all sorts of bugs!

That's a pretty amazing looking cigar. The shine, the colour... a work of art. Nice review Greg!

Wow, I've got to get into more LFD's. I've had a Factory Press II which was one of my best smokes yet gifted by a very generous BOTL here on CP.

This is the only cigar that I've ever smoked that got stronger while sitting. Good to hear that they are mellowing out a bit. Looks like these have come into there own after 4 years. Great review.
