Was a good time with the boys at the card game last night even though I lost every dime. Bastages. Up early with Jess this morning while the wife sleeps in a little; however with all the noise baby girl is making she will be getting up fairly soon I think. It’s a beautiful morning with clear blue sky, the sun’s rays warming it up nicely. Supposed to be really nice today and tomorrow, Spring fever is definitely kicking in as I’m ready to get some things done around the house. But, before anything else it’s time for a fresh cup of coffee and RA Petit Unicos RE. The wrapper is a medium brown with noticeable veins throughout, and has a slight give when squeezed. After clipping off the head, I find the draw is spot on with taste of good, straightforward tobacco coming through.

As I torch the foot, the smoke wafting up to my nose smells incredibly rich. After a good, even burn is going I take several puffs that produces an ample amount of smoke. My first draw has medium spiciness on the back of the throat with the smoke itself medium to almost full. The flavor has a very rich complexity on the palate with tastes of fresh bread, wood, leather, and sweet cocoa in the semi-lasting finish.

It doesn’t take long to get halfway in. The burn is sharp with a medium gray ash forming that holds strong until tapped off. Medium to almost full strength smoke is flowing well through the perfect draw; nice spice still hits the back of the throat. Flavors are as previously described; however there’s a slight bitterness on the lips while taking a draw. The finish is really good upon exhale, but not very lasting.

The sweet spot of this cigar was definitely in the final third as everything seemed to intensify. Spice and strength both kicked up to right at full with the smoke quite smooth over the palate. The burn remained sharp to the end with the draw perfect and flavors absolutely delicious. I think with a bit more downtime, these will really become fantastic smokes; although not bad at all right now.

Ya know King, you really make it hard to do a review when you have such wonderful language skills and dead nuts photography. I'm going to hate you for 2 minutes. ;)

Thanks, Greg.

Just looking at some this morning and wondering if they are worth the scratch.

I don't tend toward high priced smokes in general but I so love the RA taste profile ...

I had one of these this afternoon. It was really a good cigar. I still think these will be better with a little time on them.

Thanks for the review. I'm a fan of these myself. What I don't get is if they can get the RA band to look so great on this RE, why can't they get a decently embossed band put on the RASS or the RAG?
