I'm having a quiet New Years this year... wife is napping with the baby, so it's just going to be me and the dogs. I'm still going to have some champagne to celebrate, though!

I have a bottle of 1985 René Collard Champagne Brut Cuvee reserve that I found in my wine cellar. I've never had it before, dunno if it is anything fancy, but the reviews are pretty good.

I'll post my thoughts after I pop the cork... but in the meantime, anyone ever had it? Thoughts?

I'm liking it -- starts off a little honey-sweet, and finishes slightly citrusy sour.

*hic* bottle is almost gone... tried to get the dogs to drink it, but they'd have none of it. So much for New Years! :D

What no pictures??? Sounds like a very interesting Champagne. I have not had the privilege of trying it myself. Might have to try and track a bottle of it down. ;)
