Okok... I guess I messed up
Let me change my wish...
I would like to have on frank from the tat monster series =)

PS: Fish I just stopped at my local BM... Only one family Res Left... So you will have to seated for 1 =(

Granting a wish without sticks in hand is not a great idea. Even if you know your local shop carries a certain brand, it's always better to have them in your possession before committing to granting someone's wish with that stick.

Why do you think I switch wish in the first place...

He's not talking about your wish for the Anejos. He's talking about telling drunkfish you were granting his wish although you did not actually have the stick he wished for. What would have happened if you went to your local and they had none left?

I admit I kind of jumped the gun on this, but the difference is that I had the sticks in my possession. Within minutes I PM'd you that I wouldn't be able to fulfill your wish because I didn't want to give away a gifted cigar. What if your B&M didn't have any Reservas left?

In an effort to keep this moving.

If forum etiquite is not being violated I can fulfill the original request for 3 Sharks. I know this is a slippery slope and we do not want these wishes to spiral out of control so I completely understand if we want to keep a lid on this type of wish.

With that said I will defer to Whatever some of the FOG's think the best course. Either way is ok with me just let me know if you want me to get those sharkie's out or to pass.

If I could get a couple opinions on what to do that would be appreciated.

Best,
Gregg

I wish for a pony!!
If you can fill my wish then lets get this bad boy rollin. I think wishing for multiples of the same smoke is bad form. I am just a noob so take my opionion for what it's worth.

Gregg,
I understand what you're trying to do here and believe you are doing so with the best of intentions. However, forum etiquette is being violated and to fulfill that wish, as original stated would be condoning such behaviors. The MAW-PIF has been open to everyone as long as I have been here. New guys, myself included, sometimes have a hard time following. If you make an exception for person A, then what about person B, or the next...

This is a MAW PIF, so by all means....Wish. However, the whole issue of "granting" something you don't have is not a sound practice. Even if you're 95% sure you have it at home, wait to make sure. That might mean you miss-out that turn, but the concept is to grant a wish for else, not necessarily to have your wish granted.

I will chime in here cause I asked the question. My opinion here is that it is in bad form to ask for more than one wish never mind more than one of a HTF stick.

The reason people ask for more than one is to make it a little easier to grant. You dont need to grant the entire list just one item from it.

I think what Brain is trying to say, is that asking for Multiple Sticks is bad form. I do not believe he was implying that having more than one stick listed is bad form.

Nash, makes a good point. There is no reason, save the granter's generosity, to gift more than one stick. That being said, if you make a list of wishes be prepared to gratefully accept whatever is offered off your list. This has been discussed in the past as well.

I don't get what's so hard? Hasn't this been covered numerous times throughout the MawPif? "Gahau" would have known not to wish for multiples of the same stick (or grant a wish he didn't even have) if he had read up on what he was jumping into. Always best to research what you're participating in before participating.

My opinion, for what it's worth - if the wish was for an Anejo Shark, and Gregg, you wanted to send 3, that's great. But he has since canceled that wish and changed it to wish for a Frank. By the way, it may be time to update that wish list a little. It's been a couple days, and there's no movement on it. Like Brandon said, by granting a wish, you are agreeing to send the one stick you are granting. This has been discussed a few times throughout the thread.

At this point, that's a damn good question. Gahau said he went out and bought one to send out, so who knows.

Ok, lets sort this out because this baby needs to move...

  • My box is on its way to Jeff (Cigarstone).
  • Jonesy's wish was fulfilled by Chester (Drunkfish3) and received.
  • Chester's wish was supposed to be supplied by Gahau and has not been to date (no DC# posted, or shipping confirmation made)
  • Gahau first wished for 3 Sharks, which was not fulfilled since the quantity is not in the spirit of the pass, then wished for a Frank, which nobody has fulfilled for whatever reason.

That being said, we need Gahau to come through here, what's the status on Chester's wish being sent out, and as was already posted what is your next wish going to be? It is probably best to put a small list up.

Gahau was last active on Monday at 5:11 PM EST, so he may not be aware of all the posts after that, I'm going to send him a PM as a friendly reminder.

If we don't hear from Gahau by Wednesday, and it is ok with everyone else, I would like to take care of Chester's wish to get this thing on the road again, I'm not sure what proper protocol is in the situation, however nobody likes a stale MAWPIF either. (Calling all FOG's please advise!)

......also a big thank you to the fuggin Rangers fan that passed his wish along to me. That kind of thing is not very likely to happen between Rangers/Flyers fans!
