With the large 56 ring gauge foot lit and embers glowing orange, I took a couple puffs and then a long draw. Flavors were delicious in the medium strength smoke that was flowing perfectly, a somewhat mild spice hitting the back of the tongue and throat just right. I found the smoke to have a rather mild body with a richness left on the palate after exhaling slowly. Tastes of vanilla, wood, and a bit of citrus twang tantalized my taste buds.
A third of the way in and the burn seems to want to go astray several times, however corrects itself without any touching up. There’s a light gray ash forming that is only slightly flaky and holds strong until I tap it off in the ashtray. Flavors continue to be rich and delicious, the smoke still a medium in strength yet feeling light on the palate. The finish is excellent, lasting well after exhaling through the mouth and nose.
Halfway and into the final third, the cigar is burning slowly which I’m rather glad of as I’m enjoying the delicious smoke very much. The draw, although a bit on the loose side, is working perfectly, allowing just the right amount through. Towards the end of the cigar, it seemed like the flavors transitioned back and forth between a very good straightforward tobacco, then a richness that left me smacking my lips.
This was an excellent cigar IMHO, thoroughly enjoying it to the very end. It had a good burn, perfect draw, rich and delicious flavors, and lasting finish. I’d definitely like to pick up a fiver of these…if anyone has extra!
