This is my first attempt at smoking bacon and it turned out well. I welcome any suggestions. I brined it in Kosher salt, curing salt, small amounts of garlic powder, pepper and paprika. Smoked with Apple wood chips and a bourbon barrel stave, but I ran out so I finished with a small piece of pecan.

That looks delicious ! I have a great recipe for chocolate covered bacon. Yup, I said it, CHOCOLATE covered BACON. I have dubbed it -"Santa's Secret Stash".
Big hit around the Holidays...
PM if you want it . . . good luck with the smoking.

AND you had the SOUND of bacon, that's the money shot right there!
Makes me want to try my hand at smoking too, I like how you fixed your grill.

in the outcome of the brine. Adjust your brine when uses any of these salts:
Table salt 1 cup to brine
Morton Kosher salt 1 ½ cup would be needed.
Diamond Crystal Kosher salt 2 cups is needed.
It liked great. How was the taste and what wood did you used for smoke?

OK, dammit...1930 on a Sunday night and I see this. Now I'm hungry, about to go buy a smoker and I WANT SOME BACON!

You won't believe how good it is. The Mrs and I went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast, i ate one slice of their bacon and passed the other two slices to her. It was like eating paper compared to home made.

If you want something good, make your own sausage. Its pretty damn good also. Way better than anything store bought.
