The Danbury, CT Chapter of AHEPA proudly hosts their First Annual Cigar Night Fundraiser on October 5th, 2011 at The Amber Room Colonnade in Danbury, CT. Picture a relaxing evening of fine cigars, top shelf open bar, great food featuring prime rib and roast pork, french fry bar, grilled vegetables, salad station, desert and coffee. Why not be a part of what will surely be one of the best Cigar Nights ever put together in the tri-state area? A perfect opportunity to network with friends , acquaintances and advertise your business at the same time.

This year we have primarily selected ThanksUSA, "a non-partisan, charitable effort to mobilize Americans of all ages to "thank" the men and women of the United States armed forces. They do that by providing need-based college, technical and vocational school scholarships for their children and spouses. Special emphasis is given to those who lost a loved one in service to America." In addition to this charity, The Macricostas Scholarship Fund as well as AHEPA community outreach programs.

Smoking is segregated in a beautiful outdoor covered patio with non-smokers also welcome.

What percent of the money collected goes to help individuals...to the oragnizations overhead(including event location costs)?

Also, what percent is tax deductible as a donation?

Thanks for your questions.
The start time is 6:30 pm . The net proceeds will be divided as follows: 70% to ThanksUSA, 25% to our local scholarship fund (Macricostas), and 5% to Danbury food bank.
If you buy your ticket in advance the tax deductible portion is $25.00
If you purchase your ticket at the door the tax deductible portion is $45.00
The cost of dinner and cigars is not tax deductible.
We will also be offering raffle prizes that night as well as selling journal ad pages in advance.

Anyway, in answer to your question... At the moment we are seriously cosidering looking an offer by Alec Bradley that would include 6 assorted AB cigars as well as a torch lighter and cutter for each person. $75.00 retail value. One of the Cigars would be a test cigar which partcipants would rate that night...These are highly rated cigars..A representative would be on hand to circulate the crowd as well as give a short presentation ...
In addition we will have some interesting raffle prizes...The response thus far is very positive...and most importantly its for a good cause...
