Just a note to formally thank Pugman1943 for his incredible cigar bomb. I came home to a gigantic priority mail box with unbelievable smokes. It's an overwhelming feeling to receive such generosity, and I hope I may pass along the favor somewhere down the line.

Thanks for the great forum and brotherhood guys.

Devil Doc,
I'm sorry you've had less than stellar experiences with him. I've corresponded with him since the beginning and he was one of the first to say hello to me in the introduction forum. We have mutual interests in classical music, and he's been nothing but a pleasure communicating with him. I'm extremely appreciative of such a generous gift and an act of grace, and I hope you may get to know him a bit better to allow him to change your opinion of him.

Thank you again everyone for all of your kindness and brotherhood. I hope to uphold the morals and kindness shown to me already in my short time here.

Don't mind Doc, that's just how he is. (FYI, we've known Pug for quite a while now and it would take quite a bit for us to change our opinion of him).

All in all, nice way to get broken in!

Newbs. You got to be kidding me. Can you believe this? Listen, young fella, don't jump to conclusions. Pug and I are friends and probably the oldest guys on the board. Do some
research before you open your mouth

Hi Doc,
Thanks for the advice. I've read the Jay's 7 day pass where pugman1943 obviously made a huge mistake, and blew his reputation, however I'm sure I've made bigger mistakes in different settings. I believe in judging people by their actions, and how they interact with me, and so far, he's given me no reason to distrust him. I'm sorry you were hurt by him, but so far, he's in pretty good standing with me. I've been sitting on my back porch working on a final paper, enjoying some of the fine sticks he shared with me, currently working on a Tat El Triunfador Lancero. I must say, it was one damn fine smoke, and my paper is going much quicker. I'm very grateful for his gift, because trust me, writing a 15-page term paper on Renaissance Madrigal Comedy is painfully uninteresting, and I need all of the help I can get!

Best of wishes,
Cooper

When you get a chance, Google the phrase "Ball Bustin'". That's what Doc was doing to Pugman. He wasn't disparaging Pug in any way. We do it quite a bit around here and it is a sign of affection. Only when Doc goes into his mean-spirited and bigoted anti-Irish rants are you justified in taking his words at literally. Nice hit by the way Pug.

Don't forget Doc's anti-flatlander tirades. God help you if you weren't born on a slope.

Nice job, Pug!

Coops, trust me when I say you aren't gonna "wow" Doc here with your vast knowledge or education of renaissance, or your many years at college.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm getting the impression that you're of the "I'm young and I know it all" crowd. That will not fly here at all. Like others have said, Doc is our resident ball-buster and he is highly respected and loved by quite a few here. He is also well-known as the Harbinger of Newb Reality Check, so that's something to consider when you step into the ring with him.

Congratulations on the bomb, Puggys our crazy old guy. Don't take any of this as a crap on who he is, and lighten up. ;) You'll do just fine.

ETA: Cute smileys, so nobody gets their panties in a twist.

That's why it is so imperative to use as many emoticons as possible to be taken seriously. :) :p
