I've found Oliva, Liga Privada, and some overpriced Fuentes but that's about it.
I've had a free sampler of some of thier "top sellers" and I couldn't even smoke them.

I've never tried their aged stuff but I admit to being curious.

You already a cigar snob? Actually, I'm a snob about a number of things. Still, the catalogs are often fun to read to see what they are pushing.

Yes I'm a cigar snob. Friends don't let friends smoke dog rockets.
Come down to Stamford one of these days, nothing but good times at SCL.

I've ordered from JR for over 30 years. Several Brands I love.
Aren't they the ones with the "Old Henry" line? Those are GREAT cigars.

Nope. Old time Villazon Whore. Llaneza was a genius. Great smokes, enviable consistency. You always knew what to expect, and you always got a consistent flavor for a whole box, and from box to box.

Any time I am heading south on I-77 in NC I stop at their Statesville store. Great selection and great help from their employees in the humidor.
Besides their catelog always has some interesting reading included amongst the cigars.
Just my opinion

Their good stuff isn't advertised in the catalog. Great prices on tins of pipe tobacco, too.
I've never tried their aged stuff but I admit to being curious.
Not sure what you mean by this. I've been in both NC stores numerous times and their selection sucks as bad as the selection in their catalog does.

I also have ordered from JR's for years and always get great customer service. They have cigars covering the entire spectrum, from high to low end.

What do you call high end? About the only "higher end" cigar they carry on a regular basis is Ashton VSG and they carry very few of them. They only carry a few low end Fuentes and the rest are overpriced yard gars.

I believe by the time you "know what you want" you also have dealers you trust and that's where you buy your cigars. The catalogs are usually relegated to that one room of the house where 10 mins of reading material is appropriate. At least, mine are.....

After 10 minutes I'm starting to see the other side, and it's not due to one of Lew's diatribes.Face it guys, we're all snobs.....
