Those were on my short list for my laptop spot. I just wasn't able to listen to them in person, and I'm too damned picky. I went with the Emotiva AIRMOTIV 4S for my sort of new, and first mac product, a Mac Airbook. The Mac sounds pretty good compared to my windows based system. (I tried them on both computers).
For my windows desktop, I decided to get JRiver Media Center which was a great improvement over windows running Itunes, and has a great feature set. Added a Meridian "Explorer" DAC into an Emotiva "mini-X a-100" Amplifier driving Peachtree Audio "DS4.5" speakers. That's a killer little system. VERY musical. The DAC isn't very noticeable improvement on, say, youtube, but it really shines when playing discs. I'll probably get an Imac next. I'm really happy with that little airbook. Haven't cussed it out, even once.
