I just bought a single cohiba behike from a cigar shop. After opening it, I see that the cut looks like there is mold on it, see the picture here:

Is this to be expected? Is this mold, or is this 'plum' ? Should I return the cigar?

thank you for the info

Welcome to CigarPass!

Plume wouldn't be on the foot of the cigar like that. Not enough mold to worry, unless it continues to grow. Just smoke it!

Why don't you go to the Introduce yourself here forum and tell us a little about you.

Thank you for your reply. I'm a novice and don't know how a behike is supposed to taste so I won't be able to compare. If I smoke a 50$ cigar I would like it to taste exactly the way it should - will this mold influence the taste negatively?

You should introduce yourself so we can get to know more about you. It would be the polite thing to do if you plan on sticking around.

Newb lesson: DO NOT buy things you are not familiar with. If all you want is a $50 cigar, I know a few people who know people and will sell you a reduced priced Gurkha at 90% discount!

All BS aside, that thing looks moldy or dipped with either dandruff or cocaine.

Again, you shouldn't probably be going balls out and buying $50 cigars from a vendor/source you don't/can't trust.

Stick around you CAN learn a lot from CP.

Happy smoking!

You two are 110% wrong! That is plume and a sign of a well aged cigar. Sheesh, I wish I could smoke a well aged $50 CC with plume on it.  ;)

Wipe it down with bleach!

I usually go with the rule of thumb where if there is mold on the foot it is no longer good smokin'

Also, take the advice given to you above, its good.

If that's plume, it's the first time in recorded history that plume has pushed it's way out from the center of the cigar.  Smoke it?  Hell, I'd donate it to the Smithsonian.

...but that's just me.... ;)

I don't care what you guys say - thats PLUME 100%. I've been trying to get plume on the foot of my cigars for the longest and have yet to get it accomplished. I'm so damn jealous!

Shoot, it even has the nice fuzzy spores.

That's because it only grows on the foot of $50 cigars and you only own dog rockets, duh.
