What a glorious evening! Low to mid 80’s, slight breeze, blue skies. Wasn’t really in the mood for a one and a half to two hour smoke, so went digging for something in a smaller vitola. Well looky what I found in one of the buried loose stick boxes. A NUB! :D Just what I was looking for.

This was a NUB Cameroon with no discernible flaws in the wrapper. Very little give when squeezed and the large foot showed good bunching of thick leaves. I clipped the head, however the draw was very tight so clipped a bit more. Took a third clip before I got to a point where the draw was good.

Once lit, first draw almost collapsed a lung! :D Very strong with a load of black pepper spice on the back of the tongue and throat. Once past the initial blast, I detected hints of vanilla bean and worn leather. A quarter in, the spice had all but gone away and the full/medium strength subsided to a medium. The vanilla taste continued as well as new leather. Quite an enjoyable smoke. A hint of fresh baked white loaf bread was coming through. What I found to be most unusual was halfway done, the smoke gave way to a very mild strength. I had expected it to build in strength, but alas this was not the case. It actually became a bit too mild for me. Towards the end, it began to get a bit too hot and the smoke took on a slight bitterness.

I’m not quite convinced of the NUB concept. I’ve no idea of the price on these, however I would expect them to be half price since it's half a cigar. :D But seriously, if these were the same price as a full size (length wise), I’d prefer the full cigar. Why by a cigar that’s already a NUB? I dunno, that’s just my .02. ;)

And, as in true NUB fashion, I left it standing on end.

Ooooh!!! You got all arsty fancy-pants with the cigar shots!!! :p

Ah yes, the NUB... Jury's still out for me, as both experiences have been sh*t, and I don't desire to make a third one. Good review as always Greg!

Oooohhh...visions of Ashley Judd in a leather corset. :O Nah...not THAT good! :D

But, it was good.
Heck, Ashley in a Starfleet uniform would be enough for me. Lieutenant Robin Lefler, anyone?

Oh come on, let out the freeky geeky in y'all.

Wilkey

I agree Brian... Greg is a great guy and I will come up with something nice to repay his kindness.

Thanks for the review!

I've been curious about these but after seeing what it did to your dog, I don't know. :D

Wilkey, you alternately made me nauseous and excited in the same post! That takes a hell of a post!

I was gifted one of these by Ian at the trade show. Although the review seems mixed, Greg we appreciate your unbiased opinion. One way or another it shows and proves to be an interesting smoke.
