Ah yes, it has definitely turned out to be one beautiful day. Only a faint breeze has picked up, just enough to rustle the drying, Autumn leaves. I headed up front and settled in under the Walnut tree, which was perfect as all the leaves have now fallen and the sun is coming through soaking into the back of my shirt and neck. Man does it feel good out here!

The H. Upmann Mag 50 is one gorgeous cigar. It has a medium brown wrapper that is slightly coarse with a couple of noticeable veins. I punched the triple cap and found the draw perfect, with just the right amount of resistance. With the foot toasted and a couple of good puffs, I took my first draw. Wow! My first thought was this thing is a powerhouse with full medium smoke and black pepper spice. I like it! :D Cinnamon flavor came through with a dark woodiness and rich earth. The wrapper was very thick and had a thick, shiny black ring burning at the edge of the fire.

I found the flavors to remain consistent throughout the entire smoke with cinnamon spice and a dark earthiness. It did have some run issues about a third in, however corrected itself. I had to do one touch up towards the end, however only a little. The nicotine in this smoke was nowhere near that of the HDM EE, even though the strength almost seemed double. These were both very good cigars IMHO. I’m very curious to see what some age will do for these. Looks like I need to go make some room! :D

Again, a very special thanks to Don (Pembrok3355) for giving me the opportunity to try these cigars. Very much appreciated!

Thanks for the awesome review, now I just have to give my H. Upmann Magnum 46 s a little resting time. You have a great little JRT companion!

Good review as usual Greg.

The glue on the label was still wet on this one  Having said that, sometimes they taste the best within the first 3 to 4 weeks.
