It was quite foggy out this morning when I first walked out with my fresh brewed cup of coffee and Epicure No. 2, however it didn’t take long at all for the fog to dissipate. It was rather strange really as it looked quite cloudy and miserable one second, and then a crystal clear blue sky was overhead with the sun beaming. What an absolutely beautiful morning. Birds are singing all around and a soft, cool breeze blowing through the screen of the back porch. Ah yeah, I wish it could stay just like this.

I unfortunately have no idea the year on this cigar and apologize profusely as I can’t recall the brother that sent it to me. It’s been quite some time since I’ve had an Epi 2 and am looking forward to this smoke. The cigar is slightly coarse with small veins throughout and rather light in the hand. There’s very little give when squeezed and the golden brown wrapper has a nice oily sheen to it. I punch the cap and find the draw is absolutely perfect with a straightforward, fresh tobacco taste.

With the foot torched and burning evenly, I take a good draw and get a perfect cinnamon spice on the back of the throat from the medium bodied smoke. Flavors of fresh baked loaf bread and rich, toasted nuts come through. I forget how absolutely delicious these cigars are. The finish is fantastic, long and lasting on the palate.

The burn is sharp with a dark gray ash forming that falls on its own at about a quarter inch, so very loose. Cool, creamy smoke flows effortlessly from the perfect draw and is absolutely delicious. Medium bodied with a spot on spice, flavors continue to be that of fresh baked bread and a rich nuttiness. While exhaling slowly through the mouth and nose, I get a distinct flavor a Frangelica (almond liqeur) that is incredibly good paired with my coffee. Oh boy am I enjoying this cigar!

A third or so in, the draw does get a little loose and after knocking off the ash, there’s a nice sized tunnel revealed down the center. The looseness is very short lived as the burn goes on to be excellent and delicious, rich flavors continue with a lasting finish on the palate. I thoroughly enjoyed every inch of this cigar to the very end and didn’t want it to end. I have definitely got to pick up more of these.

Another awesome review from you Greg! I have yet to have a Hoyo ISOM, but if they are as good as you described, I am looking forward to ordering a couple! Thank you for the herf, as that is how it feels when I read your reviews, as though I am smoking right next to you.
