It’s been an excellent day. Roller skating this morning, playground the afternoon, and now outside with the wife and baby girl in the pool while I sit on the front porch swing getting ready to light up a Boli! Uh huh, that’s right, a Boli! :D

This Colosales is beautifully constructed with a Colorado shade wrapper that is smooth with small veins throughout and a nice triple cap on top. I don’t really see much by way of oils, however the weight in the hand is good with the cigar slightly spongy when squeezed. After punching the cap with the largest ring on my knife, I test the draw and…ah crap…plugged?? I don’t believe it, not plugged! Rats. Not a tight draw either, definitely a plug of some sort.

So I’ve gotten myself comfortable on the front porch swing amongst the pillows and have the laptop situated, and my draw tools are all the way on the back porch. Ah hell, I’ll try and work with it. I put fire to the foot and try to draw best I can with hopes the heat of the fire will soften up the tobacco and loosen up the draw. I can’t really tell that it does, however the burn is going well, just no smoke.

I continue on and massage/roll the cigar between the fingers trying to loosen up the tobacco and it actually makes a slight difference, but still not enough to smoke the damn thing. Ugh! I use my knife and push up through the head a little, which actually helps a bit as well, however the cap comes completely off. Dagnabbit!

Hitting around the halfway mark, success! Smoke isn’t flowing as freely as I would like, yet with a slow, long draw I’m getting enough smoke out to start getting good cinnamon spice and oh yeah, Bolivar flavor! Sweet, rich cocoa with a hint of black licorice and delicious roasted nuts finally come through in the medium bodied smoke.

The draw loosened up even more as I got closer to the end and the cigar shined with the typical Bolivar flavors I love so much. The finish was excellent, long and lasting on the palate. Thanks so much John for sending, love these smokes!
