It’s Mommy’s Day, and I’m about to be very busy the rest of today, so am up early to have my usual morning smoke. I decided on a smaller Monte No. 4 from 2006 to not take up to much time. The cigar came from a dress box, so has a slight boxed shape to it with a medium brown wrapper, a small patchwork of veins throughout, and slight oiliness. Firm, solid weight, and once punched a draw with slightly too much resistance.

Fire to the foot and away we go. There’s a really good salty sweetness on the lips as I take my first draw. The draw is actually just right, allowing the perfect amount of medium bodied smoke through that brings a perfect amount of spice on the tongue. I immediately can taste the typical Monte profile with cocoa, vanilla, and a nice citrus zest.

The burn is sharp with a medium to dark gray ash forming that holds strong until knocked off. There’s an incredibly delicious finish on the palate, long and lasting. Rich Monte flavor continues to come through in the good medium bodied smoke. A third in, and I allow the cigar to go out and have to re-light.

I don’t know if anyone knows that I’m a Boliwhore, ( :D ) however I’m really loving this marca as well. A perfect burn, rich flavors with a perfect amount of spice, and a lasting finish; it’s hard to beat a spot on Montecristo cigar. Excellent smoke!

Nice review, as usual.

I know what I am going to smoke today.

I like this cigar.
The No. 5 is not bad at all and even better if you're looking for a short 25-minute smoke.
