This is one ugly stick, dark brown maduro shade wrapper that still has slightly noticeable oils and large prominent patchwork veins. The weight is light in the hand, is very firm when squeezed, and with the rough cap clipped I find a very good draw with taste of well matured tobacco.
After lighting the foot, I take a puff or two and then a good draw, which gives me a medium spice that hit the back of the tongue just right. The smoke is a good medium strength, somewhat thick, and exceptionally rich with flavors of black coffee, worn leather, dark brown sugar, and a hint of cinnamon. There’s a delicious twang in the finish that is lasting on the palate.
The burn is sharp with a blackish gray ash forming. Good medium-bodied smoke is flowing effortlessly in the perfect draw. Halfway and the flavors continue to be incredibly rich with a profound chocolate taste coming through in the fantastic, long finish.
This was one excellent smoke indeed with sharp burn, very rich flavors, and fantastic finish that lasting long on the palate. I’ve smoked a few H. Upmann short coronas from around this same year and none of them compared to the richness in this smoke. A thoroughly enjoyable little cigar!
