The sun is bright this morning, nice and warm as I sit underneath the walnut tree, a fresh cup of coffee sitting on the table next to my laptop. There’s a soft, cool breeze on my back, which actually feels rather good. I’ve placed a call to find out if one of my little girl’s presents has delivered yet, a trampoline. The lady on the other end of the phone tells me they’re unloading the truck now, should be about thirty more minutes, and it will be ready for pick up. I hang up and decide to go ahead and put fire to this AF, figured even if I didn’t finish, it’s only about five minutes to pick up the trampoline so could finish when I got back.

There’s some serious age on this stick as the cello has a dark yellow tint to it. The wrapper is a dark maduro shade with a ton of shiny sparkles glistening from the oil having crystallized over time. It’s firm when squeezed, has a good weight in the hand, and after punching the cap I find the draw overly resistant so go ahead and clip a small bit off with the Palio, which doesn’t help much.

After putting fire to the foot, I take a few puffs and then a slow, long draw and find the smoke quite mild in strength with little to now spice on the tongue. What is lacking in strength and spice however, is made up well in the flavor as it is quite rich with taste of earth, leather, and a sweet straightforward tobacco. The finish follows suit and is rich as well, lasting on the palate.

The burn is sharp with a dark gray ash forming that holds well until tapped off. Mild smoke is flowing well enough through the draw that is slightly on the tight side, still no spice detectable. Approximately a quarter in, I get the phone call that it’s time to go pick up the trampoline, so put the smoke down and take off. A short time later I arrive back, unload the car, grab the smoke again and light it back up.

I finished up the smoke while putting the trampoline together and the only thing that worth noting was the strength and spice picking up to about a medium strength towards the end. It was an excellent smoke, and an amazing birthday for my little Jessica.

Happy birthday Jessica!

As for the Cuban Corona maddie,
I absolutly love these. The natural not so much. For 4 bucks these babies are great.
Thanks for the review.
I'm going to seek me some out.

Nice review and a great present. Be sure to tell her you love her every day. Before you know it, they're grown up and be off to conquer the world.

I tried to put together a trampoline I got for my nephew...what a disaster!
