Not sure what the age is on this cigar as I received it a while back in a huge bomb. I thought I would just leave it sitting for a long while to let it get some age, however saw it and decided it was just time to burn it, so I did. It had a golden brown wrapper with slight oil and small patchwork veins throughout. The weight in the hand was just right, firm when squeezed, and with the small cap punched I found the draw to have a perfect resistance with a slightly sweet, straightforward tobacco taste coming through.

As I torched the foot, I could already smell the delicious smoke wafting up to my nose, and after a few quick puffs, I took a long draw. There was a medium pepper spice on the back of the tongue and throat with a medium to almost full strength on the palate. The flavors were of pure Cohiba right from the start with a delicious richness that was smooth and creamy, tastes of sweet coffee and hay with a toasty nuttiness that left an incredibly good, lasting finish.

The burn is sharp through the first third with a medium gray ash forming in perfect layers, holding strong until tapped off in the ashtray. Strength continued to be a good medium with the spice hitting just right, smoke flowing well through the perfect draw. I really like the lancero vitola, and this one was definitely one awesome smoke with rich flavors, the smooth smoke sliding over the palate leaving a lasting finish that left me wanting to take another draw almost as soon as I exhaled.

Halfway and into the final third, the burn continued to be sharp, however I will say that the draw seemed to want to tighten up on me slightly, however with a long slow draw more than enough came through. Right towards the end, I would say the strength picked up to more of a full strength with the spice kicking up a notch as well. This was definitely one thoroughly enjoyable Cohiba, all the way to the end.

Nice little Cohiba kick you have been on lately Greg, very nice indeed!

I love the Cohiba line, and have really enjoyed your reviews. The Lancero was one I have been considering, and your Siglo VI review steered me away from buying a box. Thank you indeed.

Nice!

Within the past week, I've had an 05 and I believe an 02(older style band).
Both were very tasty!

I wouldn't let one bad review steer you away from trying a cigar. As with most CC's, there's a great deal of variation from month to month, box to box. I hear that the sig VI is actually smoking quite well right now (current production).

Nice review. I've only had one of these and it was an excellent cigar. Someday I'll have to find some more.

Damn Greg, that is one sweet looking smoke. Never tried the lancero, but the review makes me want to buy a few. /drool.

Nice review Greg. When they draw these are beautiful smokes.

Thanks for the review. I have some '08's that are decent, but they aren't as good as the '01's that I have.
