Even with a nice breeze blowing, it’s still hot as hades out with the temperature right at 98F in the shade. The wife and baby girl decided to take a dip in the pool, which the water isn’t cool at all, but more like a warm bath, but still with the breeze it is nice enough. I grabbed the Padron Anni 64 Diplo I received from my good buddy Jimmy (Jimmyhaze) right at one year ago and got as comfortable as I could in one of the chairs under the shade of the patio umbrella. The cigar seems huge in the hand with a dark maduro wrapper with noticeable tooth throughout and oils that glisten in the sunlight. It has a hefty weight to it, is very firm when squeezed, and with the cap punched I find an absolute perfect draw with taste of sweet, mature tobacco.

I torch the foot and blow on the embers until it’s covered with glowing orange embers, take a couple quick puffs and let it rest for a bit. My first draw was amazing with perfect mild spice and medium strength smoke that seemed oily on the palate. Flavors were incredibly rich with tastes of sweet cocoa and leather that lasted long in the finish.

The burn was sharp through the first quarter with noticeable tooth in the dull gray ash that held strong until tapped off. Medium strength smoke flowed well through the perfect draw, with spice hitting the tongue and throat just right. I can’t begin to describe how rich and delicious the flavors were, tastes of cocoa and leather with an incredible finish that lasted long after exhaling.

The rest of the cigar was consistent as the first part with razor sharp burn, perfect draw, and rich, straightforward tobacco flavor that had a hint of sweetness leaving an incredibly wonderful finish on the palate. This was a downright amazing cigar that I have got to get more of. Thanks Jimmy for sending such an excellent smoke!

How do you go wrong with a PAM64......??

....you don't..!!...

Nice review, Greg - B.B.S.

Another great review, Greg. Such nice pics! The '64 Anni maduro is one of my favorite smokes.

Never had a bad one. The Padron's manage the tobacco from the time it goes into the ground until it is rolled into a fine cigar.

The Padron's don't make cigars for anyone else and their attention to quality and consistency shows in every smoke.

Nice review Greg!

What camera and settings do you use to get such clear close ups?

I was using my Sony DSC-P200, had it on auto with the macro and at the 7.2 megapixel setting. Easy peasy! :D

Greg, fantastic as always. Rich is probably the best descriptor of the PAM. I'm amazed by how deeply satisfying the flavor of this cigar is.

Great cigar, great size for that cigar.

Could be the lighting, but that really looks like a natural.

Great review Greg and great stick. PAM 64's never let me down.

This is much more profound that a lot of folk's will realize. Unfortunately, too many companies are following modern "business models" which have nothing to do with integrity, and everything to do with making a quick buck at customers expense.

Great cigar, and one of my desert island lines for sure. Thanx Greg.

Hey Greg, glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for the review brother. Always enjoy reading your reviews. :)

Thanks for the great review Greg...loved the pic of the dragonfly. Incredible...

Wonderful review Greg. Amazing pictures yet again as well. Unfortunately, pictures are one thing that work does not take kindly to and reviews just do not have that same flair so getting a look at home is a treat.

Damn those Padron's kick ass.

Note on Dragon Flies...did you know they chow on mosquitoes? Probably a good thing where you are at? Was good to have them around in Michigan this summer.

Yeah, we have hundreds of them zooming around at certain times. Mid afternoon when the sun is just right, I can actually watch them catching the little bugs flying in the air.

You are right. The mosquitos haven't been as bad as they were last year. The bad insect has been the horse flies as far as I'm concerned.

Great review, Greg.

I always thought the Dragonfly's eyes were amazing. I guess when you hunt little bugs, while you and they are both moving, you have to see well. ;)
