Woo wee some serious storms rolled through this evening, however they’ve moved on through, and as I sit here on the back porch the air is dead calm with only the sound of the distant sound of thunder rumbling and the dripping of rain in the nearby woods. Tinker, my cat, is laid back thoroughly enjoying the coolness in the air. I’ve poured a dram of Grant’s blended scotch (thanks for the recommendation Ray) and am getting ready to put fire to one of the SLR RE Asia Pacifico recently received from Jay in the “steenking” box split. I’ve been looking forward to trying one of these cigars as I have enjoyed most SLR I’ve had previously, not to mention this vitola is a pyramid, which is a favorite. The cigar has excellent construction with a light brown wrapper that is shiny smooth with the exception prominent veins running the length. It has a slight give when squeezed, has a good weight in the hand, and with the tapered cap clipped at a slight angle I find the draw absolutely perfect, a taste of straightforward young tobacco coming through.

After torching the foot, I take a few puffs to get the burn going good, and then a long, slow draw that brings a perfect amount of white pepper spice on the tongue and throat with the smoke a good medium to almost full strength. I’m extremely happy to find the flavors rich right from the start, tastes of sweet hay and light woodiness that leaves an exceptionally clean, lasting finish on the palate after exhaling slowly.

The first third has an even burn with medium to dark gray ash forming that is somewhat rough looking, yet holds strong until tapped off in the ashtray. Everything is working quite well together; perfect amount of spice and good medium to full strength with silky smooth smoke flowing effortlessly through the perfect draw. Flavors are incredibly rich with tastes as previously described leaving the same clean finish that makes me smack my lips.

At the halfway point and into the final third, the cigar is performing flawlessly with sharp burn, perfect draw, and rich, delicious flavor that leaves a wonderfully lasting finish on the palate. I can’t help but think of clean when I exhale through the mouth and nose. I thoroughly enjoyed this cigar from very beginning to stubby little end. Definitely an outstanding smoke!

Yes! Good review. I agree with so many points, especially the lasting finish, and clean taste. Great Smoke. I've loved everything I've ever had from the SLR line.
