Not as hot today as it has been, but still pretty darn warm with the temperature gauge right at 93F. There’s a slight breeze that feels really nice while sitting in the shade, humidity is down to 42%, still feeling somewhat muggy out. I came out with the baby girl and Mandy so they could enjoy the day as well, Mandy settling down in the cool grass as usual and Jess goes to play in her sandbox. The Padron Ambassador I brought out definitely has some age as the cello is quite yellow, but unfortunately no idea how much. It has a smooth, dark brown wrapper with tiny veins running throughout and no oils visible. Squeezing it I find no soft spots, its very firm with a nice crunchiness when held to my ear, and after punching the cap I find the draw perfect. A distinct flavor of chocolate fudge is coming through in the cold draw and tastes delicious; I may just keep drawing on it cold!

The foot lights easily with my Oscar Colibri, white tufts of smoke pour from the newly formed embers, and after a couple quick puffs I take my first draw. As expected, the smoke is incredibly rich with perfect spice, mild to medium in strength; however the body feels somewhat light on the palate. Flavors are fantastic with tastes of sweet cocoa, dark earth, gingerbread, and a hint of cinnamon spice leaving a finish that lasts long after exhaling.

Through the first third and into halfway, the burn is razor sharp with a thickly layered ash forming that is medium gray in color. I sit it down in the ashtray and due to the length, knock the ash off right at the three-quarter inch mark. I’m finding the smoke flowing well through perfect draw, still mild to medium in strength with a nice spice on the back of the tongue and throat, the body seems to have picked up feeling a bit heavier on the palate. Flavors are as previously described, rich and simply delicious with a finish that is very lasting, lip smacking good.

Heading into the final third, the strength and spice seem to pick up slightly becoming more of a medium with the body what I would describe as full and very satisfying. Oh man this thing is good, and I can’t seem to get enough. A razor sharp burn, perfect draw, and incredibly rich flavors that last on the palate, this was most definitely one fantastic smoke!

After the 2000's both the Ambassador and Churchill are my next favorite sizes.

Probably my favorite size in the regular line. The panatelas are good too.
