I was actually really looking forward to giving this cigar a try, to see if the power was there and also find out what flavors it would produce. On this one I tried doing the V cut, again with the scissors on my punch knife, and found the draw to be decent enough. After lighting and having taken a number of draws, I finally went ahead and just clipped the head to see if that opened it up, which it did. The smoke was only slightly stronger than the natural with a good bit more sweetness from the maduro wrapper, also a bit more richness in the flavor. I found that there was also a bitterness on the lips with this one as well, which took away from the sweetness slightly. The strength, which I would say was a medium to almost full was pretty much consistent throughout as was the flavors. Definitely my favorite of the two; however neither the natural or the maduro even came close to the Litto Gomez Chisel. If one was looking for a Chisel to kick their arse…go with Litto’s IMO.

I hope everybody is doing well.

Nice stick. I too, enjoy the Maduro better than the other La Flor's.

I also have tried all three and have to agree with you that the LG is the best of the three. I really like to punch the top and bottom of the chisel with the smallest of the three punches on the swiss army knife.

Great review as always! Can't say I agree with this particular conclusion----LG Chisels are potent but I can and have had them with morning coffee . . . whereas the LFD Chisel Maduro, on the other hand, has left me a little green around the edges a couple times and never failed to completely kick my ass (the Natural is good and strong for me, but enjoyably so).

I wonder about stuff like this sometimes, though---taste is personal and subjective, of course, and everyone likes something different, but it seems to me that not just nicotine tolerance, but specific type of nicotine-bearing leaf tolerance is every bit as individual. I've got a really high tolerance and love strong cigars, but every once in awhile, one will just annihilate me, and it's always surprising when it's one someone else didn't think was "all that strong."

I've noticed that in the winter I seem to have a lower tolerance to nicotine. The only thing I can think of is that in the warmer months, I get a lot more exercise, and drink a lot more water. Whether this has anything to do with it, who knows? Sometimes a cigar will kick my butt, but most of the time the same cigar doesn't which makes me think that my physical state has a lot to do with my nicotine tolerance.

Great review Greg ( as usual ) the stronger sticks have been slowly making their way into my rotation and the LFD Chisel Maduro and LG Chisel may have to make the list now.
Keep up the good work Bro

I have a bunch of DL Chisels and Chiselitos here, none of them Maduro.

I'm pretty interested in smoking one now.

Great pics and review... Thank you.
