Yes it is. The cask is just $30 more than the 16yr here. A year or two ago it was only about $75cdn a bottle then they jacked it up to $120..one of the few nice drinks we get at a better price than you.
Hmm, the Laphroig 15 yr cask we don't get here, just the regular 10 yr...which doesn't really do it for me. How would that compare to a Lagavulin 12yr cask?
I think the sweetness of the Balvenie would work nicely with the spice of the opus. I'll bring a few bottles to try with it.
91 portwood...
My budget would be up to $100cdn, which means stuff you'd pay $60-70 for. As for the opus' we be smokin, there is a xxx, no 5, and perfection x to choose from. As for my taste, I like a wide varitey of scotch but have a bias against blends. I do already have a bottle of Balvenie 91 portwood, how...
Gonna celebrate an occasion with a friend next week, Opus X ready to go just wondering which scotch would stand up next to it? Highland Park 12? thanks.
Had another nov 05 last night, same positive results...good taste, draw and burn.
On the other hand, I have a box of Mag46 may 05, that are supposed to be good young, and they have decent flavour but are not burning well at all.
Currently, I'm smokin a Nov 05 Hoyo epi 2 and it is great thus far (2" left). I have to put this out there with all the very discouraging talk of aging fat cubans for 5 yrs +. I pulled this out of the humi with low expectations...it has been nearly as good as epi 2's with several yrs on them...
I just got a box of Bolicar PC date code POS ENE06...is this January 06? Any thoughts when they are ready to smoke? I was gonna give em 2 yrs before cutting the ribbon.
