    Gluten free cigars

My "LC" roller uses CMC or Carboxymethyl Cellulose gum. It has a lot of industrial/commercial uses so there may be several versions. Wiki has a lengthy write up on it but nothing dedicated to the cigar business. It does state that its major source is softwood pulp or cotton linter so it does not...

    Interesting read

If there is any price reduction in the cigars it will start with the lesser known brands/vitolas, machine made and smaller cigars. Common brah, $6 for Jose L Piedras? They will however keep coming up with fancy packaging/regional/limited editions that are just regular production cigars that are...

    A GREAT alternative to USPS!

You can get a hand held scale at Walmart/Amazon for suitcases $12-$15. They have digital ounces and pounds and seem to be somewhat accurate. If your weight is anywhere near the next pound quote the shipping for the next pound. There are always slight differences with the scales at the PO. John

    Interesting read

What the article meant to say but never did was Puroexpress and others like Prez at FOH have been cut off. So now they have to convince you of the new product ventures they are going into. Sales were easier pre-covid and now they are struggling and spending way more energy to keep their head...

    LC 898 from JO

Frank...you will always find a troll with an ax to grind. Don't take it personal, there are probably more deep seated reasons as to why they have to come out of the closet and spread around a little hater-aid. It's a lot cheaper than therapy I guess. So I'm all for it if it helps what's ailing...

    LC 898 from JO

Gavin...I dont like you and your modo de operandi. You have an ax to grind spell it out. You are creating a doubt for those readers that might be on the fence about my cigars and I dont find that your message is in good faith. John

    LC 898 from JO

Gavin...you are challenging Frank as to his intent and you involve me. So say what you want to say, dont talk about apples. I don't think Rod likes this sort of thing. John

    LC 898 from JO

Gavin...not sure where you are headed with this, I've been around longer than you have at CP. You have a problem with my integrity or Franks say it. No need to beat up people that are feeling good about smoking good cigars at a good price. Kingantz (Greg Lovelace) did cigar reviews of my cigars...

Wonder if the Cuban tobacco factories have electricity during this blackout?

11 million without power, only the Commandantes had the lights on. No restaurants for 36 hours. From what I understand the majority of hotels dont have generators. The shouting matches at the airport on Saturday were out of a movie. My legs look like I got hit with No 7 birdshot from the...

    EL SURCO

Most of these cigars El Credito, Selectos, El Surco etc are given to Cubans that are 50 years old through the ration card. It's just a few cents for a cigar but they only get 4 per month. Mostly they are machine made with short filler. These were available in bodegas pre-covid but now they are...

    MJ23 Cigar History

The MJ's that I saw were in a box with the MJ 23 on it. They were cut to fit inside the box, so the uncut foot versions you see in the images are likely second versions. There is a mold for these cigars at EL. I do not believe he rolled them or any other cigars of his fame like the Puntilla, he...

    RIP MRN

It has been said in a few web sites that Min Ron Nee has passed on to the big cigar world in the sky. No official obits as that was his pseudonym/alias. The dude abides. John

    What is this?

Andullo was introduced by the Spaniards initially for harvesting. The andullo was tied at both ends for field workers and slung across their backs. This would allow them to freely work the crops with both hands and store what they picked. It's use goes back as far as Greek/Roman mythology. The...

What ammo does your gun like?

I bought a Glock 44 (22 LR) for my son and it struggled with Remington, Winchester, Federal. Used CCI Mini Mags and it was better but still couldn't consistently shoot all of the rounds in the magazine. I got rid of it and got a Taurus TX-22 as it was the handgun of the year. Much better, but...

Delta, JetBlue, United dropping out of Cuba flights

Several press releases have stated that the above airlines will stop flights to Cuba in the next month or so. The remaining players will be Southwest (Ft Lauderdale, Tampa), American (Miami) and one Houston flight (United). NY will have no flights. I saw this coming as planes were going down...
