I should have posted this a week ago.
A couple years ago, and a few days before St Patty's Day, I was in the supermarket and I had a couple various bottles of beer in the cart and a corned beef. I was in the beer section and a lady said "you making corned beef tomorrow?" I said yes and she proceeded to tell me to buy an extra bottle or two of Samuel Smiths Tadcaster Oatmeal Stout, throw away the seasoning packet in the corned beef, and boil it in the stout.
Best corned beef I ever had!
