Time to start thinking about our upcoming 2021 FFL season. I think we should be full again, but wanted to post the 2021 thread to check in on everyone.

Below are the guidelines (aka “rules”) for CP's 2nd FF League.
1. Entry is 6 cigars. This is a mixed stick league of 10 teams. MSRP has been set at a minimum of $8. ISOMs and NCs allowed. Use your judgment, no dog rockets. I hope this is not a problem.

2. First place gets 3 sticks from each player total 30 sticks. Second place gets 2 sticks from each player total 20 sticks. Third place gets 1 stick from each player total 10 sticks. In the past, we used a Banker system for storing all entries, I would like to start this again in 2021 again. If there are any volunteers, speak up!

3. First place sends something cigar related to last place. Cigar, cutter, cap, t-shirt, loser trophy...etc.

4.** You MUST stay active in the league! If your team is crappy and you give up on them, you will forfeit any prize that would come your way. Things happen where you might not be able to access a computer but if you have two weeks where no changes are made (multiple starters on bye weeks, no visible changes from bye weeks) then your season will end. A member on standby will take over your team at that point. Things happen, unfortunately I get it, but speak up if there is an issue! It is that easy….Speak Up!!!

**We use a Banker system for cigar entries. @Tall Paul has offered to be the banker this year. ALL Entries MUST be shipped to Paul before September 8th. I will put more info in our group PM.

Lastly, we as a league are confirming some changes (best guesses) this year to handle potential COVID issues and I will update this thread as decisions are made. I think this will still be relevant this year to a certain extent and we will see how things progress going into the Fall.

I'm trying to remember, are waivers just a free for all? If so, can I propose either waivers or, my preference, blind bidding?

2 QBs in a small league like this is fun too.

I'm playing regardless, just throwing some stuff out there.

Yes, you are correct and no would be my answer. I know its a small league, but it has been open waivers since day one and I find it unique and different compared to most leagues. You will also find that for the majority, those that have won the last few years have not done so by having the most transactions or off waiver moves.

I am open to again talking about adding a keeper this year. I am not a fan, but I am also open to talking about 2QBs.

I agree. Don't mind shaking things up alittle, but it is not one that I want to make complicated at all.

**Also, I have officially renewed the league on yahoo, so check your emails and accept if you can play. Those that do not accept by July 15th will be contacted and confirmed in or out. At that point I will open this up to new suckers members. ETA: I meant July 25th as I said in the original post, not 15th...

One of the reasons fantasy football is so much fun, can do it however you want. I never thought having a waiver period would be considered complicated, but to each their own! 😂

I just like the crew we play with, so that's all that really matters. Plus, I'll have no problem being online constantly with the new gig!
 
I would be down for doing a keeper type of thing here.
And never been a fan of the free for all waiver thing.
 
Right now we may have (2) open spots. We have two on the waiting list in this order;
1-CgarDan
2-CigSid

Will confirm in about 10 days or so.

Heard from Jake and he is in!!! So we are down to one potential opening. Dan, you would be first up unless you and Bill want to fight it out.

Also, for everyone, we are going to do the banker system again this year. Last year we did not do this due to covid, but what that means is we will all send our entry cigars to one person to hold them until the end of the season to send to the winners. Does anyone want to volunteer to be the banker this year?? Anyone have the space to hold 60 cigars?
