This humidifier requires no chemicals to be added and because of the design, it will preserve your cigars better than other humidifiers. No refilling for longer periods because it holds approximately one gallon of water. You refill this humidifier thru the special fill cap on top of the humidifier.

The humidifier is a two part piece, a top half and a bottom half. It is manufactured from high impact Black textured ABS plastic. We manufactured this as a two piece unit so you can take it apart and clean it with ease. We recommend that you clean this humidifier with warm water using Joy or Dawn dish-washing soap.

The humidifier has a 360 degree directional rotating vent for humidified air. The fan is an all ball-bearing sealed fan that operates on 110 volts, regular household current in the United States. The fan guard and all attaching hardware is made of stainless steel. The humidifier comes with a 6 foot cord and all electrical parts are UL listed.

There is a Red refill cap on the top of the humidifier. This Red cap sits down into a recessed fill area covering a refilling hole. The filling area has been recessed so you do not have to pour the water directly into the hole, just into the area of the hole. When refilling, the water goes directly onto the filter and then into the water reservoir. When refilling is finished, simply insert the Red cap into the fill hole to maintain proper air pressure on the filter. You can tell the level of water in the humidifier by using a sight glass that has been installed on the side of the humidifier.

The humidifier has a filter contained within that transfers the water molecules into the air stream which humidifies the air. Filter replacement is recommended every 3 to 6 months or as needed.

HS-1 Humidifier Controller
This controller will automatically regulate the humidity in your humidor by turning the power on and off to the HS-1 humidifier. The accuracy of this controller is +/- 5% in humidity.

Has
1. When tobacco products are fresh, they do not demand humidification. This is only needed when tobacco starts to dry out through normal evaporation.

2. Cigars can remain fresh within a relative humidity range of 65% - 75% at normal room temperature. Everything depends upon the specific characteristics of tobacco.

3. Forced humidification is bad and should be avoided. It can cause cigars to burst, wrappers to loosen, blister or mold. It takes ten days to two weeks to replace the moisture of dried out cigars. Restoration should be a slow, gradual process.

Just wondering what 1-3 are all about?

I'd suggest the person who wrote that part 'search' around a little.
Those comments just seem odd!

As for the device....dunno. How much is it?

"The humidifier has a 360 degree directional rotating vent " ----ummm, don't all fans rotate 360 degrees...and then some!

"We recommend that you clean this humidifier with warm water using Joy or Dawn dishwashing soap. "....when? Upon arrival or when it needs it. And why not use a light bleach solution as that would remove any built up bacteria.

This whole thing is written up 'oddly'!

...never force humidification onto your cigars, Gary....always ask nicely.....:p
