MANU PROPRIA PIPES – "SHIBUI Convertible" a noble Pipe Concept.
The pipe consists out of three parts, the Chamber, the stem and the mouth piece. The Chamber is made from Ebonite with a Bog Oak core and is lacquered with Urushi (Japan Lacquer), the stem is made from Ebonite with a brass core, the mouth piece Acrylic or Ebonite. The main Feature of this pipe concept is the lacquer. This specific lacquer is called "Aka-Kinkumo-Nuri", Aka = Red, Kin = Gold, Kumo = clouds, Nuri = Lacquer or in English "Golden Clouds in Red Sky"
The stem is available in neutral black lacquer or in the same lacquer as the chamber
A Note on Urushi
Urushi lacquer is literally indestructible
The hardness of Urushi lacquer reaches Mohs 4, the hardness of Glass
Urushi Lacquer has strong antibacterial properties
Urushi lacquer is resistant against all known Acids and Alkalis
Urushi withstands heat up to 300 Degree Celsius
Only long and strong exposure to UV rays could destroy Urushi over time.
