As some one who is new to the cigar world I have a few questions I hope you could answer for me. If it matters, my tastes include scotch, dark beer, and beefy red wines.

What would be a good cigar to start with?
What on line store would you recommend?
What would be an inexpensive humidor to start with?

Thank you.

We would like to know a bit more about you before answering this question. Please head over to the Introduce Yourself section and give us some details. We would be more than happy to answer your questions after that. :D

Please fill out your profile as well.

If you intend to be more than a one hit wonder, follow Niko's advise about introducing yourself.

As for an inexpensive humidor, go to Holt's, Cigar International or Cigar bid. Then head over to the humidor forum here and search for "seasoning". Get the seasoning done before ordering cigars.

Now for what to smoke, I recommend the Newbie Sampler Trade located in the Buy Sell Trade forum here. Your trading partner will supply you with a broad selection, at a great value. Once you've smoked through those, you should have an idea of what you prefer.

Thank you for posting an intro! We like to do things the right way around here, I hope you don't fell like I was too harsh on you. Anyways, what have you smoked already? Something more medium to full bodied would go well with those wine and beverage selections.

I use Cigars international quite a bit, as well as Famous Smoke. The best advice is to do what Matt suggested and go with the Newbie Sampler Trade.

Enjoy your stay here at CP.

Thanks for the tips Niko. I haven't smoked a cigar in 30 years. As for being "too harsh," nah I can take it. I'm from the frozen tundra.

Umm.. I can only offer Cuban cigar reccomendation for a beginners smoke, but I don't think that would be that handy to you.

My favourite cigars from down your way are: Padron 2000 Maduro and Illusione MK.

This site has never done me wrong, and it is as the name states.

Norcalmark has usually got an excellent range of Illusione cigars at good prices. Padrons are much easier to find.

Nicely handled Tilden and nicely done Niko!

1. Read reviews and look for cigars which have medium flavor and are not strong. Try the Fuente 858 and Hemingway natural line, if you want more "kick" try Padron, Tatuaje, LFD.
2. We have several great brothers here who own B&M and treat customers right.....Keystone_Raider, Uptown isy, Norcalmarc, Puffstuff, etc.
3. Buy a big cooler! Here a couple reasons why. It's cheaper. A nice attractive wood humi is too small and is more difficult to maintain RH. Do you want to display your cigar collection for all to see anyway....it just makes them disappear faster ;)
