I think this might be an awesome all day HERF with lots of fun things to do.
Date: Saturday July 25th.
Time: 12 PM till you are all smoked out <img src="http://www.cigarpass.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" :blush: " border="0" alt="blush.gif" />
Place: Eisenhower Park <a href="http://www.nassaucountyny.gov/agencies/Parks/WhereToGo/active/eisenhower.html" target="_blank">http://www.nassaucountyny.gov/agencies/Par...eisenhower.html</a>
Here are the planned activities: BBQ and your choice to enjoy one or all ofthese: Miniature golf, Batting cages, Driving range
BBQ: There will be burgers and hot dogs as well as all the necessary condiments and utensils. I just ask that you bring beer or soda
Miniature Golf: An 18-hole miniature golf course near the Nassau County Aquatic Center is a popular attraction for children and families (572-0407 for information). The course has been named "Best of Long Island" by News 12 Long Island (see article below). Fees: $7, adults; $4, children & seniors. Summer hours: Daily, 10:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. (last round).
Batting Cages: There is also a batting cage with nine separate batting areas offering varying pitching speeds for baseball or a softball option. Baseball speeds as follows: fast, 80-85 mph; medium, 60-65 mph; and slow, 40-45 mph. Fee: $3 for 25 pitches. Summer hours: Daily, 10:30 a.m. - 8:45 p.m. (last token).
Driving Range: In addition, the park has an illuminated driving range
60 bays with a range of more than 400 yards to the far fence.
Fees: $5 for 40 balls and $7 for 60 balls. You can even rent a Driver for $2
Open year-round. As of June 2009, hours are Mon. - Fri., 6:30 a.m. - 9 p.m.; Sat. - Sun., 6 am - 9 p.m.
