    The Pleasure of Traditional Shaving

Arise old thread and be born again! I have truly gotten back into this hobby, and finally accomplished a goal of mine, that being learning to use a straight razor. The learning curve was not that bad, and the results are fantastic. Now I have a dozen or so straight razors that I have honed and...

    SPC Plum Pudding Special Reserve

Good review. I'd tend to agree on this. The SR is more complex and subdued than the standard blend, making it very enjoyable.

What’s in your pipe today? 2020

So very excited for this one. A new to me, mid-70s Kirsten Lancer in Western Satin finish, with an XL briar bulldog bowl. This thing is so pumpkin orange it is perfect for the season. First smoke is GL Pease Gaslight. Hopefully it kills the remaining aromatic ghosts in the bowl.

    Everyday smoke?

Agree with all the other ISOM morning stick suggestions so far and will add the Fonseca Delicias. Very price conscious and a creamy smoke to go with your coffee.

Padilla La Pillar #4. Much better than the value price I paid. Leathery smooth spice, with a dry gentle sweet finish.

What’s in your pipe today? 2020

I found a vintage, unopened, tin of Flying Dutchman at an estate sale a while back. I smoked a bit when found, and have mostly left it in the humi. It had already aged well and is at a great smoking humidity now. I paired it up with my smokestack Kirsten Cavalier, as this tobacco is a thin...

What’s in your pipe today? 2020

Broke open the Seattle Pipe Club Plum Pudding Special Reserve, in the favorite Kirsten. That 4oz brick is really crammed into the tin. This is much more subdued and the flavors are better married together. I am enjoying it.
