    How time changes everything

So here are mine (yes, I'm actually still alive!). I'm not sure if all are due to a change in tastes, or just a discovery/appreciation of new & different beers, but here goes... American Pale Ale: Great Lakes Burning River now Victory Headwaters Pale AleESB: Yards ESA (on cask if I can find it)...

    The Great Pennsylvania Beer Tour

Several of you have been following my beer-related tweets over on Twitter (phillybeerguy), but now I have a website to go along with it: http://phillybeerguy.com/ The main purpose of my getting a site live was to document my "Great Pennsylvania Beer Tour." Take a look, let us know what you...

    ISO: JUBEL 2010

Any news on this? Just saw a thread on BA that shows a place in Colorado with it in stock: http://beeradvocate.com/forum/read/2652788

    Stouts

Victory Storm King and Stoudt's Fat Dog are two regular offerings from locals near me that I like a lot...both have great aging potential. On a more limited basis, Troegs started bottling their Scratch #15, redubbed "Java Head", which is a big Oatmeal Stout brewed with locally roasted coffee...

I usually split a case of this with a friend every year. If that holds true, a 4-pack is yours.

    Recent Purchases

It's decent, but I really don't think it stacks up to the likes of Prima Pils (or Sly Fox Pikeland, for that matter). What it has going for it is accessibility, which the more aggressively hopped and bitter Prima does not. I served the Victory beer to a group of college seniors I was doing a...

    Stupid Beer newbie questions

Well, if you're just planning on holding on to it long enough until you're ready to drink it, my advice on the hop-forward beers would be to keep it in the fridge until you are ready to drink. That will keep it as fresh and hoppy as possible until the time comes to drink it.

    Stupid Beer newbie questions

I think this is something we went over in this forum here awhile back, but since my daughter was born and my participation here has waned a touch, I see there are many new faces that may not have seen it the first go around. The whole idea of temperature swings being bad for beer is one of those...

    Yuengling Reviews

OK, let's kick this series off with the beer that most of you are probably at least somewhat familiar with: Yuengling Traditional Lager Style: American Amber Lager ABV: 4.4% Brewed: Year-round Location: Pottsville, Pennsylvania Brewing since 1829, D.G. Yuengling & Son is recognized as...

    Yuengling Reviews

D.G. Yuengling & Son, holder of the title "America's Oldest Brewery™", and currently second to the Boston Beer Co. (Sam Adams) in the "America's Largest Brewery Actually Owned By Americans" category, is a local favorite in these parts. Their flagship product is so popular at local watering holes...

What beer did you drink today?

I'm on Nugget Nectar #3 for the evening. These 2 cases are going to go far too quickly.

Guess what time it is, kids?

Troegs only distributes to a 3-4 hour driving distance from the brewery, which is in Harrisburg, PA. I have done a massive group buy on this the past 2 years, but have only received a couple requests this year. I guess you all must know that my disposable income is going to diapers right now...
