Today's Smoke 2017

km27tT0l.jpg

Romeo y Julieta Exhibicion No. 2

A Robania farm roll given to me from NorcalMark back in 2008. I was given two and told they were rolled by Alejandro himself. The first one I smoked right away and wondered if it was really true. Must have been sick because fast forward almost ten years later and this example completely different than I remembered. That familiar Cuban profile, but the wrapper has a nice spicy finish. Amazing!!

I was wondering about that Barry... Why?

I noticed it's not easy to find them anywhere. Pete paid a lot of money for the brand name.
Yeah, which is why the move to discontinue them seemed odd...

I think it's just that the quality had gone downhill so much. Pure conjecture on why... maybe broadleaf was harder to come by? Maybe he was more focused on limited and new stuff? Hard to say.

A Johnny O Lancero from 2009. His wrappers are where it's at!! You can't go wrong with a Johnny O in Lancero, Lonsdale, or Cazadore format. The RG vitolas let the wrapper flavors dominate like they should.

Timely post... I have a few Lanceros and Cazzies from early '14 that probably need some sampling after a 3+ year rest.

Smoked a few singles over the last few days:
JLS1 (from a fiver, so I think it was '15 stock)
Cornelius & Anthony Daddy Mac Robusto (didn't quite do it for me)
Crowned Heads Angel's Anvil TAA 2015 (last one, not bad)
San Cristobal Revelation Legend (surprisingly descent)
