What Beer Did You Drink Today (2017)

IMG_3207.JPG

Drank this one Saturday. One of the best Prairie releases ever. The cinnamon and barrel flavors are excellent.

What did you have to give up, to get that bottle? Those were a brewery only release and I've only had it at a beer festival, but it was so good.

I traded a local Dallas guy for like 6 of those. I gave up Black Tuesday, Firestone Walker 19th, a Rare Barrel sour, and a Bruery sour. Still have one more. I'm hoping to go to the release this year in three weeks. My buddy is going and I may ride along.

After this past summer getting IPA's that were skunked and/or had heat cycled (wet cardboard delight) I've resorted to only buying fresh beer.

Case or two of Lagunitas Born Yesterday IPA - bottled days before purchase.
Case of El Segundo Mayberry IPA - bottled less than a week prior to purchase.

Does anyone else have/had this issue, where you had a couple favorite brews that you used to buy and one day that beer you know and love (just that 6er/case) was rekt?

That is a great one, I saw they had some new beers available at the store today. I remember you were from WI, right? I drove through WI this summer and got a case of Spotted Cow, one of my favorites when I lived in Chicago.
He's from Oklahoma. Love spotted cow! I got my employee to bring me back a 12 pack and four Rasberry Tarts from his summer vacation this past summer.

Maybe just a Packer fan then ! Yeah Spotted Cow, only available in WI. On the rare occasion I needed to visit WI, cases of Spotted Cow, cheese curds and landjaeger would be brought back.

Doing a side-by-side with a bottle of Avery Rumpkin and Avery Pump[KY]n. Chances this ends up being a bad decision: high.

Dogfish Head 60 minute IPA at PF Changs last night. Still good, but New England style IPA's have forever ruined me and set the standard.

How was that!!? Sounds interesting!

It was really good, but I'm biased towards coffee stouts. I haven't seen this variety at home (although it's made in MD), but I found it near my sister-in-law's in Cleveland. I'm going back to get a case for the drive home. Err, I mean to take them home. Honestly officer, that's what I meant to say!!

This years release. The spices are so balanced and the Bourbon profile is a welcome addition to an already awesome Stout.
