Favorite Cutter

I use the Big Seven...Palio guillotine, Xikar double blade, Shuriken, Xikar 9mm & 11mm punch, Xikar V-Cutter, and a Colibri V-Cutter. It all depends on the cigar ring size & blend as to what I use.

Shuriken got me googling. Looks interesting.

Dang, you guys are fancy! I own one xikar cutter and it's cut every cigar I've had for a decade. I hope I haven't been missing out on a whole world of enjoyment by not using anything else.

I hear ya. I've had a Palio and a Xikar...............that's it.

...words... Just because it's called a guillotine doesn't mean you chop the head off. It's more of a circumcision than a beheading.
Doc

I've been working on this lately. I can definitely notice a difference. Am I doing this right, Doc?

It's a bit weird when you put the cigar in your mouth and it has no cut whatsoever on the cap, yet draws perfectly. It really only works on milder cigars. If you use it on any of the Nicaraguan powerhouses, it tends to clog from the amount of tar that forms at the side cuts. Or if you tend to slobber on the end, it doesn't work well either as the tobacco swells from the saliva.

It serves a purpose though. I use it for the guys that visit my house who aren't true cigar smokers...those who don't like the little bits of tobacco winding up in their mouths as they smoke...and for me, for the occasional milder Davidoff.

I've got an old defunct humi full of cutters and lighters I've tried over the years, but my go-to for quite a while now has been the big 70RG Xikar guillotine. Around $19 to replace when I lose one, and while I never smoke mega-sized sticks I like the size of the cutter because it's easy to keep a grip for precision work.

My favorites are the Xikar teardrop cutters and my Dunhill silver cigar punch. I always wanted to get a Palio and a couple of months ago went on the search for them and found these:
https://www.amazon.com/Palio-Kentuc...8&qid=1534950832&sr=8-3&keywords=PALIO+CUTTER

Only $10 because it has the "Kentuky Fire cured" logo on it. It was a great deal and the logo came off easily using some elbow grease and bounty paper towel (I would have left the logo, but I actually hate those cigars). If you search, you'll be able to find other colors at the same price. I've purchased a blue one and a black one since.

Here are some pics, as you can see, no logo on either side of the cutter.

hat makes me so pissed because I spent that much just trying to get the warranty fulfilled. I think I dropped $40 or more just trying to get my carbon fiber Palio.
